    摘要: A document feeding device comprises a document input tray (10), a document output tray (20), a feeding mechanism for a feeding path (31,33,34,35,36), a turnover mechanism for a turnover path (32), ejection rollers (50,51,52), an ejection mechanism which switches its document ejection mode between a first ejection mode (for successively ejecting each document while stacking it on documents already ejected to the document output tray) and a second ejection mode (for successively ejecting each document while sliding it under the already ejected documents) by relatively moving a nipping position of the ejection rollers (50,51,52) and an upstream end position of the document output tray (20) in the vertical direction, a pressing member (70) which is pivotable up and down on the downstream side of the ejection rollers (50,51,52) and which presses down the already ejected documents in the first ejection mode, and a retracting mechanism (80) which retracts the pressing member by pivoting it upward in the second ejection mode.

    摘要: A method of feeding material to be scanned to, and ejecting such material from, a scanning system is provided. The scanning system receives, ejects and transports carrying material to be scanned. Two such transports are provided, to permit material to be scanned on one transport while the material on the other transport is changed and/or modified. The transports are fed into the scanning system from a bed and are received from the system on rails. The rails are above the bed. The bed and rails are in one vertical position when transports are fed from the bed into the scanning system and at another vertical position when a transport is ejected from the scanning system onto the rails. A transport may be dropped from the rails to the bed.
