    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the strength of a gypsum wallboard through a weight reduction.SOLUTION: A lightweight gypsum board includes a solidified gypsum core disposed between two cover sheets, wherein the solidified gypsum core contains a gypsum crystalline matrix; the gypsum crystalline matrix has partitions therein for defining and separating air bubbles; some of the partitions have a thickness of at least about 50 microns as measured by a scanning electron microscope image; some of the air bubbles have a pore diameter of more than about 100 microns as measured by the scanning electron microscope image; the gypsum matrix is formed so that the average core hardness of the solidified gypsum core can be at least about 11 lb (about 5 kg) as based on ASTM C-473; and the density of the lightweight gypsum board is from about 24 pcf (about 380 kg/m) to about 35 pcf (about 560 kg/m).
