PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scavenger support which removes metal, especially palladium, from solution.SOLUTION: The scavenger support is acquired from a chemical reaction between a functionalized support having pendant groups selected from 1,3-ketoesters or 1,3-ketoamides or mixtures thereof having a hydrocarbyl group, a perhalogenated hydrocarbyl group or a heterocyclyl group which is connected to a support through a linker, with an amine having a substituted hydrazine or its salt or a specified chemical structure.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alternative sulfur based corrosion inhibitors overcoming sensitivity to chlorine as the fault of tolyltriaozole widely used as corrosion inhibitors to yellow metal. SOLUTION: The fact that dithiocarbamate compounds are sufficiently strongly effective as sulfur based corrosion inhibitors to be bonded with metals, particularly with copper since they form protective barriers or protective films has been found. Further, the fact that, in the compounds as inhibitors, at the time when the substitutional groups of the aliphatic or aromatic series are changed, remarkably influence is exerted on the performance of being filmed has been found. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali metal dithiocarbamate useful as a rubber vulcanization accelerator, an intermediate therefor, or the like. SOLUTION: In producing an alkali metal dithiocarbamate by reacting an amine with carbon disulfide and an alkali hydroxide in water, the dithiocarbamate is produced by adding 0.5 to 20 pts. wt. inorganic carbonate and/or inorganic hydrogencarbonate (e.g., sodium carbonate and sodium hydrogencarbonate) per 100 pts. wt. alkali hydroxide. According to the method, it is possible to easily produce an aqueous solution of the dithiocarbamate used as a rubber vulcanization accelerator, an industrial bactericide, or an intermediate therefor without detriment to its commercial value. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selenium ion separating agent being used for efficiently separating and removing selenium ion contained in an extremely slight content in an aqueous solution and to provide a method for efficiently separating and removing selenium ion from an aqueous solution containing selenium ion in a low concentration using the agent. SOLUTION: A dithiocarbamate compound having the formula (wherein R1 to R4 independently denote a 6-12C hydrocarbon group) is used as a selenium ion separating agent. Selenium ion is separated and removed from an aqueous solution containing selenium ion by bringing the solution into contact with a solution containing an organic solvent and the dithiocarbamate compound or a porous resin carrying the dithiocarbamate compound.
