SOLUTION: In a reaction for obtaining adipaldehydic acid by oxidizing cyclohexanone with molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst containing water and iron, at least one of elements of group IA, group VIB, group VIIB, group VIII and group IB is added to the reaction system. Preferably at least one kind of a compound containing at least one nitrogen atom containing an unpaired electron in the molecule and at least one kind of an oxygen-containing compound are added to the reaction system.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce adipoaldehyde acid on an industrial scale by oxidizing cyclohexanone with molecular oxygen under specific condition. SOLUTION: Cyclohexanone is oxidized with molecular oxygen in the presence of (A) cyclohexanone and/or (B) a water-soluble iron compound, (C) a nitrogen-containing compound having a heterocyclic group containing at least one nitrogen atom and acting as a polydentate ligand and water. The component C is preferably expressed by formula (R1 to R4 are each H, an alkyl or an aryl), e.g. 2,2'-bipyridyl and 2,2-bipicoline and the ratio of the component C to the coexisting component B is preferably 10-3 to 6 in terms of atomic ratio of nitrogen to iron.
