Abstract:
A solid phase reaction system for oxidation of an organic compound, having high industrial value in which an organic solvent exerting a reverse influence on earth environments is not necessary, reuse of a catalyst is possible, and high yield can be attained, comprising a mixture of a powdery dispersion medium and a powder of a solid catalyst for the above-described oxidation reaction, and the above-described organic compound and aqueous hydrogen peroxide, wherein the above-described organic compound, the above-described solid catalyst and the above-described aqueous hydrogen peroxide are dispersed in the above-described mixture so that they get into contact mutually.
Abstract:
Compounds, pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds, and methods of preparation and use thereof are disclosed. The compounds are honokiol analogs. The compounds and compositions can be used to treat and/or prevent a wide variety of cancers, including drug resistant cancers. Representative honokiol analogs include diepoxide honokiol analogues. The compounds are believed to function, at least, by inhibiting angiogenesis and/or inducing apoptosis. Thus, the compounds are novel therapeutic agents for a variety of cancers.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of manufacturing a bifunctional epoxy monomer by selective oxidation of a diolefin compound. SOLUTION: In the method, the bifunctional epoxy monomer expressed by general formula (B), in which R 1 -R 5 are the same as being defined in general formula (A), is manufactured by oxidizing a compound expressed by general formula (A), in which n shows an integer of 1-3, R 1 -R 5 are each, independently the same as or different from one another, a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group, a halogen atom, a carboxyl group, a 1-4C alkyl group, a 1-4C alkoxy group, a 3-7C cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, an acyl group, an acyloxy group or the like, by using a hydrogen peroxide water solution as an oxidizing agent in the presence of a metal compound of the group 6 (molybdenum, tungsten) and a quaternary ammonium hydrogen sulfate in halogen-free and solvent-free state.
