PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing fine polymer particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 10 μm and a narrow particle diameter distribution. SOLUTION: This method for producing the fine polymer particles involves polymerizing a vinyl monomer in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer containing a copolymer obtained by polymerizing methacrylic acid with a methacrylate in a weight ratio of 90/10 to 60/40 in a solvent capable of dissolving the vinyl monomer and the dispersion stabilizer but substantially incapable of dissolving a polymer produced from the vinyl monomer to obtain the fine polymer particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 10 μm. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer polyol to give a polyurethane resin having a low viscosity and excellent mechanical properties.
