摘要: A junction element manufactured from a junction material composition that is capable of contributing toward a conversion to low thermal expansion of junction material layer sufficient to relieve any thermal stress generated in a honeycomb structure, and that is capable of substantial inhibition of cracking of the thus obtained honeycomb structure. There is provided a junction element comprising two or more junction objects unified together via a junction material layer, wherein the junction material layer has a Young's modulus of 20% or below of those of the junction objects and has an average linear thermal expansion coefficient of 70% or below of those of the junction objects, and wherein the junction material layer consists of a junction material composition composed mainly of a filler and a matrix in which a filler of 2.0810-6 K-1 or below average linear thermal expansion coefficient is contained.

摘要: A honeycomb filter is provided to improve burning efficiency of particles and to increase mechanical strength of honeycomb sintered body by flowing a large quantity of exhaust gas through an inner honeycomb sintered body having a thinner outer wall. A honeycomb filter comprises the followings: multiple cells(11) arranged in a longitudinal direction with a cell wall in-between; and a honeycomb sintered body(4,7) of a column type wrapping one directional ends among the multiple cells and bound together with a bond. The honeycomb sintered body comprises an outer honeycomb sintered body(7) located at a most outer periphery, and an inner honeycomb sintered body(4) bordered with the other honeycomb sintered body at all sides. An outer wall(13a) of the outer honeycomb sintered body is thicker than an outer wall(15a) of the inner honeycomb sintered body by a ratio of 1.05-2.0.

An inorganic fiber article(1) comprises an inorganic coating layer(2) having bubbles(4), wherein the inorganic coating layer is formed on at least a portion of a surface of an inorganic fiber molded body(3). The inorganic coating layer is formed on the entire of one of surfaces constituting an outer shape of the inorganic fiber molded body. The inorganic coating layer comprises an amorphous material. The amorphous material is at least one amorphous material selected from a group consisting of glass, diamond-like carbon, a silicon oxide film, a hafnium oxide film, a chalcogenide-based multi-element alloy, and an opaline material.
