Provided is a novel approach for connecting servers to peripherals, such as NICs, HBAs, and SAS/SATA controllers. Also provided are systems for arranging peripherals within one or more I/O directors, which are connected to the servers over an Ethernet network. Such arrangement allows sharing the same resource among multiple servers.

A computer-implemented system is provided for monitoring performance of a media player launched by a web browser. The media player is referenced by a document that defines a web page and is implemented as a plug-in to the web browser. Upon accessing the web page, the web browser launches the media player. The media player in turn launches a performance monitor that is implemented as a plug-in to the media player. The performance monitor subscribes to event listener objects exposed by the media player and receives event data that is reported by the event listener objects. Performance metrics pertaining to the media player are derived from the event data.

A transceiver including: an antenna configured to a receive a first signal transmitted on a radio frequency channel; and a peak-to-sidelobe ratio determination unit configured to generate a second signal based on a ratio, in which the ratio is based on a peak value and a sidelobe value, and the peak value and the sidelobe value are determined based on a non-correlated version of the first signal. The transceiver further includes a carrier sense unit configured to, based on the second signal, generate a third signal indicating (i) whether the radio frequency channel is busy or (ii) whether the first signal is valid.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for virtualizing port adapter resources such as network interface cards (NICs) used to connect servers to packet based networks. Resources are offloaded from individual servers onto a resource virtualization switch. Servers connected to the resource virtualization switch using an I/O bus connection share access to NICs. Redundancy can be provided using multipathing mechanisms implemented at individual servers or high availability mechanisms implemented at the resource virtualization switch. Switchover can occur between ports on the same port adapter, between ports on separate adapters, or between ports on separate resource virtualization switches.

The present invention relates to a dye compound represented by the following formula (I), or a salt thereof: wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, D1, D2, B, and n are defined the same as the specification, and also relates to a photoelectric component using the same. The dye compound of the present invention is suitable for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). Hence, the photoelectric characteristics of the DSSC can be improved by using the dye compound of the present invention.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for numerically simulating structural behaviors of embedded bi-materials are disclosed. At least first and second grid models are created independently for an embedded bi-material that contains an immersed material embedded entirely within a base material. First group of meshfree nodes represents the entire domain (i.e., base plus immersed materials). Second group of meshfree nodes represents the immersed or embedded material, which includes all interface nodes and nodes located within a space bordered by the material interface. Numerical structural behaviors of the embedded bi-material are simulated using the first and second set of meshfree nodes with a meshfree method that combines two meshfree approximations. The first meshfree approximation covers the first set of meshfree nodes and is based on properties of the base material, while the second meshfree approximation covers the second set of meshfree nodes and is based on a differential between the immersed and base materials.

The present invention discloses a method of visualizing the 3-dimensional microstructure of a thick biological tissue. This method includes: a process of immersing thick, opaque biological tissues in the optical-clearing solution, for example FocusClear (U.S. Pat. No. 6,472,216), and utilizing an optical scanning microscope and a cutter. In microscopy, the cutter removes a portion of the tissue after each round of optical scanning. Each round of optical scanning follows the principal that the depth of the removal plane is less than the depth of the boundary plane derived from the scanning This method acquires an image stack to provide the information of thick biological tissue's 3-dimensional microstructure with minimal interference by the tissue removal.

A data writing method and a micro-operation processing system are provided. The micro-operation processing system is adapted to access a plurality of registers and each of the registers defines at least one logic storing area. The data writing method comprises the following steps: executing a first micro-operation; selecting a target area of the first micro-operation, which has been updated by the second micro-operation before, as one of the logic storing areas; assigning each of the first micro-operation and the second micro-operation a respective identification number; determining that a execution order of the first micro-operation is later than a execution order of the second micro-operation according to the identification numbers of the first micro-operation and the second micro-operation; and recording that the target area has been updated by the first micro-operation.

A track measurement apparatus for sports shoes includes a first accelerometer module located at a rear side of a sole of a shoe and a second accelerometer module located at a front side of the sole of the shoe to measure acceleration alterations of the shoe worn by a user in striding forwards during running, and also derive alterations of angular velocity and angle while the shoe is stridden forwards to get motion status of the shoe.
