Abstract: A photo detection device, which is disposed in a vehicle, includes a first photo detection element that detects light and a first signal processing unit that performs a predetermined process based on a detection result of the first photo detection element. The photo detection device also includes a first board on which the first photo detection element is mounted and a second board on which the first signal processing unit is mounted. Additionally, the photo detection device includes a holding member that holds the first board and the second board and a housing that accommodates the holding member. The holding member holds the first board and the second board such that the second board is arranged in a second plane different from a first plane in which the first board is arranged.

Abstract: A drowsiness-estimating device capable of improving the precision of drowsiness estimation by eliminating the effect of individual differences. In the device, a recurrence required time-calculating part (103) calculates the recurrence required time, which is the time needed, after a detection time when an action is detected, for a drowsiness estimation parameter value acquired after the detection time to return to the value of the drowsiness estimation parameter acquired before the detection time. A drowsiness-estimating part (104) estimates the level of drowsiness of the drowsiness-estimation subject on the basis of the calculated recurrence required time. To be specific, the drowsiness-estimating part (104) maintains a drowsiness level-estimating table in which each of multiple time ranges is correlated with a possible drowsiness level, and specifies a possible drowsiness level that corresponds to the time range, among the multiple time ranges, with which the recurrence required time is associated.

Abstract: An automatic leveling device and automatic leveling method for being able to reduce an error caused by a hysteresis characteristic of an actuator are provided. A control ECU obtains vehicle height values from a front height sensor and a rear height sensor, computes a vehicle height difference from the vehicle height values, and a stroke amount to be corrected of an actuator 4 from the vehicle height difference. The control ECU supplies an instruction position signal based on the stroke amount and a hysteresis width such that the instruction position signal projects tentatively alternately out of a hysteresis range plural times in a reverse direction of an immediately preceding value. Therefore, every time the instruction position signal projects tentatively alternately out of the hysteresis range, a motor is started up again and stopped when the instruction position signal is finally matched with an actuator position signal.
