Abstract: Driver abnormality sign detection method and device are provided that can detect an abnormality sign of a driver while realizing both high responsiveness and high reliability. A driver abnormality sign detection method includes estimating a heartbeat interval of a driver based on heartbeats detected by a driver camera, acquiring time-series data of the heartbeat interval of the driver in a predetermined time period, standardizing the time-series data of the heartbeat interval, calculating a probability PA that the standardized heartbeat interval falls within a predetermined range having zero as a center, in the time-series data of the standardized heartbeat interval CG-BIz, and determining that a sign of an abnormality of the driver is detected in a case where the probability PA is greater than a predetermined abnormality sign threshold value TA.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide for vehicle manipulation with convolutional image processing. The convolutional image processing uses a multilayered analysis engine. A plurality of images is obtained using an imaging device within a first vehicle. A multilayered analysis engine is trained using the plurality of images. The multilayered analysis engine includes multiple layers that include convolutional layers and hidden layers. The evaluating provides a cognitive state analysis. Further images are evaluated using the multilayered analysis engine. The further images include facial image data from one or more persons present in a second vehicle. Manipulation data is provided to the second vehicle based on the evaluating the further images. An additional plurality of images of one or more occupants of one or more additional vehicles is obtained. The additional images provide opted-in, crowdsourced image training. The crowdsourced image training enables retraining the multilayered analysis engine.

Abstract: An information processing device includes a speed selection instruction receiving unit, a display control unit, a location-pointing action accepting unit, and a characteristic measurement unit. The speed selection instruction receiving unit receives a speed selection instruction from the examinee. The display control unit executes a speed-variable display process to display a simulated moving image, which is a moving image simulating the field of vision of a moving human and including at least one target object in such a manner that the moving speed is set in accordance with the speed selection instruction. The location-pointing action accepting unit accepts a location-pointing action performed by the examinee to point to a specific location in the simulated moving image. The characteristic measurement unit measures the characteristics based on the indication results correlating with whether the location-pointing action correctly point to the location of the target object.

Abstract: A computerized system for recognizing the need for cognitive tests due to a physiological event and administering such tests includes a plurality of biometric monitoring devices and a pilot input device. When a physiological event is identified, the system selects an appropriate battery of tests and automatically administers those tests. The system offers the opportunity to automate pilot evaluation for single pilot operations, and to reduce the burden on a co-pilot. The cognitive tests may be specific to the physiological event, and may be compared to a pilot-specific profile when evaluating the results.
