The present invention relates to a polyarylene sulfide that is prepared from a composition including 100 parts by weight of solid sulfur, 500 to 10,000 parts by weight of iodinated aryl compounds, and 0.03 to 30 parts by weight of a sulfur-containing polymerization terminator with respect to 100 parts by weight of the solid sulfur, and has a melting temperature (Tm) of 255 to 285° C., and luminosity of 40 or higher as defined by the CIE Lab color model, and a process of preparing the same. The PAS resin is prepared from a composition including a sulfur-containing polymerization terminator and thus has excellent thermal properties and luminosity.

This invention relates to a method of preparing poly(arylene sulfide) (PAS) from an iodo compound and a sulfur compound, and more particularly, to a method of preparing PAS, including adding a sulfur-containing polymerization terminator when PAS is produced using an iodo compound as an intermediate. Thereby, in final PAS, the residual iodine content may be maintained at the same level or decreased and other properties may be maintained at equal or superior levels, thanks to the use of the sulfur-containing polymerization terminator, which is much lower in price than conventional polymerization terminators.

The device includes an organic layer between an anode and a cathode, the anode and the cathode facing each other, and the organic layer containing at least a light emitting layer. At least one layer composing the organic layer is a cured film having a predetermined pattern and containing a cured dendrimer material having one or more photoreactive functional groups at the ends thereof. The organic electroluminescent device is produced by: forming a dendrimer material layer, as at least one layer composing the organic layer, from a coating liquid containing a dendrimer material having one or more photoreactive functional groups at the ends thereof and an organic solvent; and pattern-exposing the dendrimer material layer.

The present invention relates to a process of producing polyarylene sulfide (PAS) and PAS resin produced therefrom, and more specifically, to a process of preparing polyarylene sulfide with better thermal properties and luminosity than conventional PAS and the PAS resin produced therefrom, including the steps of: a) melting and mixing a composition including solid sulfur, iodinated aryl compounds, and a polymerization terminator; b) polymerizing the molten mixture of step a) for 1 to 30 hours while increasing the temperature and decreasing the pressure from initial reaction conditions of a temperature of 180 to 250° C. and a pressure of 50 to 450 Torr to final reaction conditions of a temperature of 270 to 350° C. and a pressure of 0.001 to 20 Torr; and c) heating the reaction product of step b) at a temperature of 270 to 350° C. for 1 to 25 hours. The process of polyarylene sulfide resin further includes a step of heating the polymerized product at a high temperature following the polymerization step, and uses the polymerization terminator in a suitable amount to control the molecular weight of polyarylene sulfide, thereby producing polyarylene sulfide with excellent thermal properties and luminosity.

Disclosed is a method of producing trimellitic acid through the liquid-phase oxidation of pseudocumene in acetic acid. The oxidation comprises a) conducting a first oxidation using an initial oxidizing catalytic system at 120-200iÉ for 5-20 min in an oxidizing reactor, said initial oxidizing catalytic system comprising at least three compounds selected from the group consisting of cobalt compound, manganese compound, zirconium compound and bromine compound; b) conducting a second oxidation in situ at 160-220iÉ for 30-60 min under addition of an additional catalytic system, said additional catalytic system comprising at least two compounds selected from the group consisting of cobalt compound, manganese compound, zirconium compound, and bromine compound; and c) completing the oxidation of pseudocumene at a temperature from 180 to 230iÉ for a time from 5 to 20 min without the addition of catalysts into the reactor. The pressure is adjusted in the range from 100 to 450 psig over the steps a), b) and c).
