Abstract:
An equatorial anthropic radiation source and a method of making an equatorial anthropic radiation source are described. The radiation source is useful in diagnostic imaging applications in healthcare or other industries (e.g. computerized three-dimensional segmental imaging; Crompton scattering imaging techniques; radiation detector check and calibration, in particular CdZnTe detectors commonly used in medical imaging).
Abstract:
A mixing device including a container defining a container cavity, the container including a bottom wall supporting a hollow shaft, the shaft supporting an impeller thereon such that the impeller is free to rotate about the shaft, the impeller including a central passageway therethrough for receiving the shaft, the container further including an elongated evacuation tube having a first end positioned within the passageway of the shaft and an opposed second end extending to a port of the container. Methods of using the mixing device to provide improved cell culture.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods and devices for mixing the contents of a mixing container, the device including a container defining a container cavity, the container including a bottom wall supporting a hollow shaft, the shaft supporting an impeller thereon such that the impeller is free to rotate about the shaft, the impeller including a central passageway therethrough for receiving the shaft, the container further including an elongate evacuation tube having a first end positioned within the passageway of the shaft and an opposed second end extending to a port of the container.
Abstract:
A radiopharmaceutical comprising 2-mercaptoisobutyric acid chelating reduced technetium-99m for scintigraphically imaging the liver and biliary tract morphology and function and to a method for instantly making the radiopharmaceutical.
Abstract:
A brachytherapy template adaptor for performing brachytherapy procedures using needles smaller in diameter than the template is designed to accommodate. Additionally, a kit for adapting a brachytherapy template is provided.
Abstract:
A dual-filter dual-integrity test conduit assembly allows for in-situ testing of both filters with separate, duplicate systems for membrane integrity so that if the first tester filter fails, the second filter may be tested with a different, but identical method with its own gauges and nitrogen supply so as to further isolate malfunctions of the filter integrity test equipment as a cause for erroneous batch failures.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of detecting regional variations in oxygen uptake from the lungs of an air-breathing animal subject, said method comprising administering into the lungs of said subject a diagnostically effective amount of a gaseous hyperpolarized magnetic resonance imaging agent, detecting the magnetic resonance signal from said agent in said lungs, determining the temporal variation in relaxation rate for said signal for at least one region of interest within said lungs, and from said variation generating a qualitative or quantitative value or image indicative of the oxygen uptake from the alveolar space in said at least one region of interest.
