Abstract:
Certain embodiments are directed to compositions and methods for non-cytotoxic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for the treatment of chronic granulomatous disease
Abstract:
A media feeding and cutting system is disclosed herein which comprises a media cutter including a cutting surface and a digital cutting device, a first feeder configured to automatically transport individual sheets of media from an in-feed receptacle toward the cutter, a positioner configured to position the medium on the cutting surface, a second feeder disposed adjacent to or connected to the cutting surface which is configured to automatically transport the cut medium from the cutter to an out-feed receptacle, and a processor configured to operate the cutter, first feeder, positioner and second feeder. Additional related systems and methods also are disclosed.
Abstract:
A media feeder system for use with a media cutting system having a cutting table includes an upper out-feed tray and a lower in-feed tray bins are disposed laterally adjacent one side of the cutting system table. A bi-directional media transport system transports media in an in-feed direction from the in-feed tray to the cutting table surface and removes media from the cutting table surface in an out-feed direction from the cutting table surface to the out-feed tray. The media transport system includes a sheet acquisition system having gripping apparatus that adjust for a height of the media held in the bins.
Abstract:
A personalized packaging production system includes an in-feed tray, an out-feed tray, a cutting table disposed intermediate the in-feed tray and the out-feed tray and an interchangeable cutting/creasing assembly. A sheet feeder is positioned between the in-feed tray and the cutting table to feed media sheets from the in-feed tray to the cutting table, and an exit nip is positioned between the out-feed tray and the cutting table to remove media sheets from the cutting table to the out-feed tray.
Abstract:
This invention provides a simple vacuum level switch to be used inside the feedhead's vacuum plenum to detect when the vacuum level exceeds a predefined threshold. This switch is composed of an opening in the plenum that is covered by a cap which is in turn spring-loaded against the opening. The mechanical properties of the spring are such that the cap is pushed away from the opening by ambient air pressure at the point when the vacuum threshold has been reached during sheet acquisition. A Hall Effect or optical sensor is used to detect this motion and the corresponding signal is sent to the feeder controller. This enables more intelligent control of the feeder while also providing an inexpensive method for tracking sheet acquisition times.

Abstract:
An improved serial communications circuit, which includes support for Infra Red communications over a number of incompatible IR protocols is provided. To improve serial throughput, and reduce the overhead required of a Central Processing Unit, separate Transmit and Receive FIFO's are provided to buffer incoming and outgoing serial data. These FIFO's are controlled by a state machine which can adjust interrupt requests to the CPU based on the contents of the FIFO's and the time elapsed between interrupt service requests. In addition an improved multi-mode Infra Red modulation and demodulation system is provided which may support, alongside standard hard wired serial communications, wireless IR communications with personal information managers, laptop and palmtop computers, and other personal and professional electronic equipment which may employ an IR remote control.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for processing a call from a credit card telephone paystation reads magnetic encoded data on a credit card and produces a credit card identification signal. The credit card identification signal is identified as valid prior to enabling the telephone call. Call information data is stored at the telephone paystation including the credit card identification signal, the called number, the time and date of the call and the call duration. The stored call data is transmitted at periodic intervals to a central billing computer upon request by the central billing computer.
Abstract:
A coin receiving prepay telephone station for local calls includes a telephone receiver and transmitter with a handset and a supporting hook switch cradle therefor. The station further includes a coin chute having an open end for receiving a coin and a lower end for discharging coins into a coin box. A solenoid controlled arm is movable transversely into and out of the coin chute adjacent a level near the open end for normally retaining a coin deposited in the chute in a partially exposed retrievable position permitting manual extraction from the chute if a call dialed from the station is not answered. Circuitry is provided for activating the solenoid controlled arm to move out of the coin chute permitting the coin previously retained therein to drop into the coin box when a called party answers a call of over three digits dialed at the station.
