摘要: A fiber-optic light guide is provided. The light guide includes plurality of optical fibers and an enveloping material. The plurality of optical fibers define a flexible fiber bundle. The flexible fiber bundle has a first diameter and a length along a longitudinal axis. The enveloping material encloses the plurality of optical fibers at one end of the flexible fiber bundle and over at least a part of the length to define a rigid portion. The plurality of optical fibers in the rigid portion are fused with one another. The flexible fiber bundle has a modified or formed cross-sectional geometry in a region of the enveloping material.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a swing door system for use with a freezer device, including two adjacent swing doors and at least one mullion in contact with the swing doors. Each swing door includes a transparent pane and a non-transparent area, with each non-transparent area proximal to the mullion when the swing doors are in a closed position. The non-transparent areas and the mullion define a non-transparent region. In a plurality of horizontal see-through angles, a view through the transparent panes is not totally blocked by the non-transparent region. The horizontal see-through angle is measured with respect to the plane in which the swing doors are arranged when the swing doors are in the closed position. When a width of at least one of the swing doors is in the range of 500 mm to 780 mm, the plurality of horizontal see-through angles ranges from 6° to 174°, preferably 5° to 175°, and more preferably 4° to 176°. When a width of at least one of the swing doors is in the range of greater than 780 mm and equal to or lower than 1000 mm, the plurality of horizontal see-through angles ranges from 5° to 175°, preferably 4° to 176°, and more preferably 3° to 177°. A freezer device comprising a swing door system is also described herein.

摘要: A process for preparing a glass container that includes: providing a glass tube with a first portion, a second portion, and a longitudinal axis (Ltube); holding the first portion in a first clamping chuck and the second portion in a second clamping chuck; rotating the glass tube around the longitudinal axis (Ltube); heating, via a heater, the glass tube above a glass transition temperature; separating the first and second portions from one another by pulling apart along the longitudinal axis (Ltube) while the heated glass tube is still rotating by moving the first and the second chucks away from each other; and moving the heater, while moving the first and second chucks away from each other, so that the heater follows a mass that remains at a circular end region of the first and/or second portion.

The predamages pass continuously through the glass or the glass ceramic with at least 90% of the predamages being cylindrically symmetrical. The glass or the glass ceramic has a material compaction of at least 1% relative to an actual material density in a radius of 3 μm about a longitudinal axis of respective pre-damaged points. The relative weight loss per pre-damaged point is less than 10% and the component has a thickness of at least 3.5 mm.

摘要: A formulation usable to produce plates and shaped bodies has a base slip, quartz glass particles and multicomponent glass particles that are crystallizable or at least partly crystallized. The base slip contains water as dispersion medium with a content between 30% and 50% by weight and ultrafine SiO2 particles distributed, preferably colloidally therein, with a proportion between 50% and 70% by weight. The proportion of quartz glass particles in the formulation is in the range from 40% to 70% by weight and the proportion the multicomponent glass particles in the formulation is in the range from 5% to 37% by weight. The formulation can be used in a composite material. Firing aids can be made from the composite material.
