    摘要: A liquid proof protective garment and protective glove assembly wherein the interface of the garment and gloves is sealed together in a manner to produce a liquid impervious seal between the garment and the glove. The liquid impervious garment-glove interface assembly of the present invention is particularly adapted for use with surgical gowns. The liquid impervious seal is produced by narrowing the diameter of the distal end of the protective garment over which the protective glove is placed. The junction of the garment and glove is then sealed with a flexible liquid adhesive, which upon drying, produces a protective garment-glove assembly which is impervious to liquids and protects the wearer from potentially harmful intrusions of liquid into the interior of the assembly at the garment-glove juncture.

    摘要: The discovery of this invention is that the use of an aseptic barrier in the form of a layer of material which is impervious to the passage of water in combination with at least one layer of absorbent tissue in the form of a disposable tissue or handkerchief can function to reduce materially the transfer of pathogens such as viruses and bacteria from the bodily internal products, mucous and fluid effluent from inside a person to his hand. The above principles may be embodied in a disposable tissue including an aseptic barrier or in a method of entrapping nasal secretions in such a way that contamination of the environment from infected noses be avoided. This is accomplished by the creation of a trap in the form of a mitten-like bag, resistant to the passage of aqueous liquids, with facial tissue affixed to the outside of this mitten-like bag.

    摘要: An apparatus for supporting a large volumetric array of acoustic sensors in water is packaged in a standard configuration sonobuoy envelope and utilizes conventional sonobuoy deployment components. A housing within the envelope contains a plurality of tubular extendable members stored on drums and extendable to form array support booms upon deployment of the apparatus. A plurality of releasable array modules are releasably attached to the housing, each module containing an array cable and a plurality of acoustic sensors secured to and along the cable. As the apparatus enters and descends through the water, the tubular members extend to form array support booms. The array modules are synchronously released to the extension of the tubular members and as the modules descend, the array cables and acoustic sensors deploy, the array cables forming catenaries between points on array support boom pairs or between the housing and points on the various booms. A non-rigid, four-boom hanging catenary array structure is thereby deployed.
