Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid-repellent composition which is hydrocarbon-based and can impart excellent liquid repellency; a method for treating a substrate using the liquid-repellent composition; and an article equipped with a coating film which is hydrocarbon-based and has excellent liquid repellency. Formula (a) is (R1—Q1—)HC═CH(—Q2—R2). Q1 and Q2 each independently a divalent linking group. R1 and R2 each independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 8 to 24 carbon atoms.
