Abstract:
Incubation of d-13-methyl or ethyl-17 Alpha -ethynyl-17hydroxygon-4-en-3-ones with the fungus Botryodiplodia malorum produces the corresponding 1 Beta -hydroxy derivatives which have anti-estrogenic activity. The 13-methyl- Beta -hydroxy product is formed in admixture with the corresponding 11 Beta -hydroxy compound.
Abstract:
OPTICALLY ACTIVE SECO-STEROIDS ARE PREPARED BY MICROBIOLOGICAL REDUCTION. THE COMPOUNDS ARE USEFUL IN THE PRODUCTION OF PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE STEROIDS.
Abstract:
Reduction of 7-(2-((3R)-3-hydroxy-1-octenyl)-5-oxo-3cyclopenten-1-yl)-5-heptenoic acid, and its methyl ester, acetate by fungi of the genera Corynespora is disclosed. The product 7(2-((3R)-3-hydroxy-1-octenyl)-5-oxo-cyclopentyl)-5-heptenoic acid(11-deoxy-15-epi-PGE2), which is novel, is useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of other physiologically active prostaglandins.
