Granulates of a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate in a molar ratio of ethylene to vinyl acetate of from 10:1 to 1:2 coated with an aqueous dispersion of a polymer based on at least one methacrylic acid ester and, optionally, at least one ethyleneically unsaturated compound and process of producing the same.

AND APPARATUS THEREFOR, THE PROCESS INVOLVING GELLING HOT SAPONIFICATION SOLUTION CONTAINING ORGANIC SOLVENT BY COOLING, EXTRUDING GELLED SOLUTION TO FORM FILAMENTS OF SPECIFIED DIAMETER, PRODUCING PARTICLES OF SPECIFIED LENGTH FROM SAID FILAMENTS, REMOVING ORGANIC SOLVENT AND SAPONIFICATION CATALYST FROM SAID PARTICLES AND ISOLATING RESULTING COPOLYMER PARTICLES.

THE INVENTION RELATES TO NEW ACRYLONITRILE GRAFT POLYMERS AND TO PROCESS FOR THIS PRODUCTION , USING AS A GRAFT BASIS A COPOLYMER OF ETHYLENE AND VINLYPYRROLIDONE AND GRAFTING ACRYLONITRILE THEREON. THE ACRYLONITRILE GRAFT POLYMER HAVE AN IMPROVED AFFINITY FOR WATER AND, AT THE SAME TIME, A HIGH SOFTENING POINT.
