摘要: A dialysis system includes a disposable cassette including a flexible sheet and a plurality of dialysis fluid pathways, a plurality of actuators operable with the flexible sheet to direct dialysis fluid through the plurality of dialysis fluid pathways, and a controller configured to (i) determine at least one limitation of the plurality of dialysis fluid pathways, (ii) generate a flow schedule indicating how dialysis fluid should be directed through the plurality of dialysis fluid pathways in accordance with the at least one limitation, and (iii) control the plurality of actuators so that dialysis fluid is pumped through the plurality of dialysis fluid pathways according to the flow schedule.

摘要: A dialysis system including a disposable fluid pumping cassette including at least one flexible membrane attached to a housing and at least one port extending from the housing, the at least one port including a spike; at least one dialysis fluid supply in fluid communication with at least one tubing and tubing connector; an autoconnection device including a shuttle for moving the at least one tubing and tubing connector towards the spike of the at least one port, the autoconnection device including at least one lead screw in mechanical communication with the shuttle, a motor and power transmission equipment to transmit power from the motor to the at least one lead screw; and a controller programmed to operate the motor to move the at least one tubing and tubing connector towards the spike of the at least one port of the disposable fluid pumping cassette.

摘要: A renal therapy system with cassette-based blood and dialysate pumping is disclosed. An example system includes a blood pump actuator, a dialysis fluid pump actuator, a dialysis fluid heater, a dialyzer, and a disposable unit. The example disposable unit includes a blood cassette portion configured to be operatively connected to the blood pump actuator to pump blood through the blood cassette portion. The example disposable unit also includes a dialysis fluid cassette portion, separate from the blood cassette portion, configured to be operatively connected to the dialysis fluid pump actuator to pump dialysis fluid through the dialysis fluid cassette portion. The blood cassette portion and the dialysis fluid cassette portion are both in fluid communication with the dialyzer. The example disposable unit also includes a heater bag configured to be placed in operable communication with the dialysis fluid heater and in fluid communication with the dialysis fluid cassette portion.

摘要: A method for operating a dialysis cassette including a flexible membrane that covers a pump chamber includes allowing a source of fluid to fluidly communicate with the pump chamber of the dialysis cassette, filling the pump chamber with the fluid from the source, mechanically extending the flexible membrane into the pump chamber with a piston head to expel the fluid from the pump chamber through a flow path, and directly sensing a pressure of the fluid flowing through the flow path at a location of the dialysis cassette adjacent to the pump chamber and using the sensed pressure to perform a test prior to delivering fluid to a patient.

The blood cassette portion and the dialysis fluid cassette portion are both in fluid communication with the dialyzer. The example disposable unit also includes a heater bag configured to be placed in operable communication with the dialysis fluid heater and in fluid communication with the dialysis fluid cassette portion.

摘要: A method for a hybrid blood and peritoneal dialysis (“PD”) machine comprising: (i) determining whether a previous treatment left a last fill of dialysate in a patient's peritoneum; (ii) if a next treatment is a PD treatment, and if the previous treatment did not leave the last fill of dialysate, causing a PD treatment in which a first cycle is a fill cycle to be initiated; (iii) if the next treatment is a PD treatment, and if the previous treatment did leave the last fill of dialysate, causing a PD treatment in which a first cycle is a last fill drain cycle to be initiated; and (iv) if the next treatment is a blood treatment and if the previous treatment did leave the last fill of dialysate, causing a blood treatment including a last fill drain cycle to be initiated.
