Abstract: A product may comprise an electric machine, and may include first and second shafts connectable to the electric machine in torque a transferring relationship. A first clutch assembly may selectively connect the electric machine with the first shaft and a second clutch assembly may selectively connect the electric machine with the second shaft. A gear set may be operatively engageable between the electric machine and the first and second clutch assemblies. An engagement coupling may connect the gear set in a high range between the electric machine and the first and second clutch assemblies, and the engagement coupling may connect the gear set in a low range between electric machine and the first and second clutch assemblies.

Abstract: A variable cam timing phaser of a variable cam timing system includes a housing and a rotor moveable with respect to the housing. The rotor and the housing define advance and retard chambers. The variable cam timing phaser also includes a control valve assembly. The control valve assembly includes a valve housing defining a valve housing interior, a supply port, first and second working ports, and an exhaust port. The control valve assembly also includes a piston moveable for controlling flow of the hydraulic fluid through the valve housing interior. The exhaust port is fluidly connectable with a sump through a vent path that is defined by at least one of the valve housing and the rotor. The vent path is configured to prevent air from being sucked into the variable cam timing phaser through the vent path.

Abstract: A hydraulic actuation system (10) and method of assembly for disconnecting a secondary driveline (27) can be used in an all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle (14) having a power take-off unit (PTU) (42) for transferring rotary power to the secondary driveline (27). The hydraulic actuation system (10) can include a source of pressurized fluid (50), a hydraulically actuated synchronizer (44) for synchronizing rotary motion between the PTU (42) and the secondary driveline (27), at least one hydraulically actuated clutch assembly (11a, 11b) for connecting and disconnecting secondary vehicle wheels (29a, 29b) with respect to the secondary driveline (27), an area control solenoid (ACS) valve (54) in fluid communication with the source of pressurized fluid (50) to modulate pressure to engage and disengage the synchronizer (44), and at least one variable force solenoid (VFS) valve (56a, 56b) in fluid communication with the source of pressurized fluid (50) to modulate pressure to the at least one hydraulically actuated clutch assembly (11a, 11b).
