摘要: A dual drive unit may include two motors, two power transfer mechanisms, and two output shafts. The output shafts are co-linear. The dual drive unit may include two single drive units, which may be similar to each other, coupled together at a joint, which may optionally include a clutch. A drive unit may be modular, and various components may be combined to provide power to an output shaft. For example, a drive unit may include a differential at a first interface, which may be removable, and two drive units may be coupled together at the first interface. A drive unit may have a Z configuration, wherein a motor on a first side of a vehicle powers a wheel on an opposite side of the vehicle.

The electronic control unit performs first switching control when there is a request for switching from a low mode to a high mode. The first switching control is to release a first engagement mechanism, and switch a second engagement mechanism to an engaged state when a difference between input and output rotational speeds of the second engagement mechanism becomes equal to or smaller than a permissible value.

摘要: A first gear train couples one shaft with the left axle or the right axle. The one shaft is one of two shafts which are not coupled to the reduction gear. The other one of the two shafts is coupled with one element which are not coupled to the first gear train among three elements of the differential case, the left axle and the right axle. The planetary gear mechanism, first gear train and second gear train have a gear ratio by which rotation of a motor stops when the differential apparatus does not perform differential operation and total torque of the left axle and the right axle when torque of the motor is applied does not change. The motor is disposed at one side in a vehicle widthwise direction with reference to the differential apparatus, and a planetary gear mechanism is disposed at the other side.

摘要: A vehicle includes an engine, a generator, and a motor. The engine burns a gaseous mixture in a cylinder to output a drive force. The generator generates electricity by being rotated by the drive force outputted from the engine. The motor drives by utilizing electric power generated by the generator or electric power that has accumulated in a battery charged with electric power generated by the generator, and the motor thereby outputs a vehicle-running drive force. A case covering the motor is of larger diameter than a case covering a differential. The motor has an output shaft outputting the vehicle-running drive force, and has the output shaft disposed parallel to a vehicle width direction. The generator is disposed such that part of the generator overlaps an upper section of the case covering the differential.

摘要: A power system includes an electric motor, a transmission, and a differential gear system. The transmission includes a first gear that is mechanically connected to the electric motor, a second gear that has a rotation axis in common with the first gear and is mechanically connected to a differential gear casing of the differential gear system, and a plurality of pinion gears that mesh with the first gear and the second gear. The plurality of pinion gears are supported to be capable of rotating and not to be capable of revolving. One pinion gear out of the plurality of pinion gears is only mechanically connected to a rotation restricting mechanism that is switchable between an operating state and a non-operating state. The rotation restricting mechanism restricts rotation of the pinion gear in the operating state, and permits the rotation of the pinion gear in the non-operating state.

The pinion holder has a pinion gear supporting portion which is disposed on a side of the differential gear casing of the differential gear system to support the pinion gear, relative to a meshing portion between the second gear and the pinion gear. An inner diameter of the second gear at the meshing portion is equal to or smaller than an outer diameter of the pinion holder.

摘要: A transmission for a vehicle, particularly a skid-steered vehicle, that employs motive power from a prime mover delivered through an input shaft to drive left and right drive shafts at a nominal speed and input power from an electric motor to vary the speed of the left and right drive shafts according to steering commands from a steering control structure. The speed of the left and right drive shafts is directly related to a speed of the input shaft and the nominal speed of the left or right drive shaft is varied upwardly or downwardly by a ratio of the speed of the steering shaft via a speed varying structure. The speed of the left and right drive shafts is simultaneously varied in opposite directions (i.e. upwardly and downwardly) relative to the nominal speed by an equal number of rotations.
