摘要: Filter media having a design embossed into the media are described. In some arrangements, the filter media is pleated filter media. In other arrangements, the filter media includes a plurality of channels, such as tetrahedron channels. The filter media includes a pattern of interrupted straight or angled embossments that help maintain separation between adjacent layers of the filter media. The embossments allow for two adjacent media layers (e.g., mating surfaces of the filter media) to remain separated, thereby increasing dust holding capacity and lowering pressure drop over similarly configured filter media not having the embossments.

One embodiment includes a housing comprising a first housing section having a blowby gas inlet structured to receive crankcase blowby gases from a crankcase. The housing further comprises an oil outlet. The rotating coalescer includes an endcap and filter media. The filter media is arranged in a cylindrical shape and is coupled to and positioned between the first housing section and endcap. The filter media is structured to filter the crankcase blowby gases passing through the filter media by coalescing and separating oils and aerosols contained in the crankcase blowby gases. The rotating coalescer includes a hollow shaft extending through the housing and positioned radially inside of the filter media. The hollow shaft forms a blowby gas outlet structured to route filtered crankcase blowby gases out of the housing. The rotating coalescer further includes a drive mechanism operatively coupled to the hollow shaft.

摘要: Radial seal filter assemblies and filter cartridges are described. According to various embodiments, a filter includes a housing that extends along an axis between first and second axial ends. A primary filter element is disposed in the housing and axially extends between first and second axial ends that respectively are adjacent the first and second axial ends of the housing, the primary filter element has a hollow interior and a first axial length. A secondary filter element is disposed in the hollow interior of the primary filter element, the secondary filter element having a second axial length, the second axial length being longer than the first axial length of the primary filter element. The filter further includes an end cap disposed on the second axial end of the primary filter element.

摘要: Rotating coalescer elements that maximize the radial-projected separation surface area in a given (rotating) cylindrical volume, where flow to be cleaned is passing axially upward or downward through a separating media of the rotating coalescer element. Various example package assemblies are provided with various types of rotating configurations including cylindrical coiled media packs, frustum coiled media packs, concentric cylinders, coiled metal or polymer films with and without perforations, and/or alternating layers of different materials. The described rotating coalescers may be driven by hydraulic turbine, electric motor, belt, gear or by mounting on rotating machine components, such as rotating engine shafts or connected components.

摘要: Referring to the figures generally, a rotating filter cartridge includes a first endcap, a second endcap, and a filter media. The filter media is positioned between the first endcap and the second endcap. The filter media creates a mechanical seal between at least one of the first endcap or the second endcap during rotation of the rotating filter cartridge without the use of a potting material. In at least one embodiment, the rotating filter cartridge further includes a body secured to the first endcap and the second endcap. At least one of the first endcap or the second endcap, and the body, may form a pocket that radially pinches the filter media to form the mechanical seal.

摘要: Referring to the figures generally, rotating filter cartridges (e.g., a rotating coalescers) for a rotating filtration system (e.g., rotating coalescer crankcase ventilation systems) are described. The described filter cartridges use mechanically created seals to seal the filter media to the endcaps of the filter cartridges. Accordingly, the described filter cartridges eliminate the need to use a potting or embedding material during manufacturing of the filter cartridge, thereby eliminating the costs and potential manufacturing defects associated with the potting or embedding material and process.
