Abstract: In a system for setting power supply of reusable secondary cell modules, a degradation level estimation unit estimates a degradation level of a cell-module performance of each of a plurality of secondary cell modules, based on: the history information items about the respective the secondary cell modules acquired by a history information collection unit; and the cell-module performances of the respective secondary cell modules collected by a cell performance collection unit. A suppliable quantity prediction unit predicts a suppliable quantity of power of each of the plurality of secondary cell modules in accordance with the degradation level of the cell-module performance of a corresponding one of the plurality of secondary cell modules. A supply balance setting unit sets a power supply balance among the plurality of secondary cell modules based on the suppliable quantity of power of each of the plurality of secondary cell modules predicted by the prediction unit.

Abstract: In the battery deterioration prediction system, a polarization calculation unit calculates negative and positive electrode polarizations from negative and positive electrode resistances, and an electrical current value flowing through the secondary battery. A CCP calculation unit calculates a negative electrode closed-circuit potential on the secondary battery negative electrode open circuit potential and the negative electrode polarization calculated by the polarization calculation unit, and calculates a positive electrode closed-circuit potential based on the secondary battery positive electrode open circuit potential and the positive electrode polarization calculated by the polarization calculation unit. A capacity prediction unit predicts the positive/negative electrode capacity, and positive/negative electrode SOC deviation capacity of a secondary battery based on at least one of the closed-circuit potential of the negative and positive electrodes calculated by the CCP calculation unit, and predicts the battery capacity based on the negative and positive electrode capacities, and the positive/negative electrode SOC capacity deviation.

Abstract: A battery structure includes a plurality of batteries each made of lithium-ion secondary battery; and a plurality of arrangement portions in which the plurality of batteries are arranged. The plurality of arrangement portions are divided into two groups of: a upper heat transfer group having heat transfer orders higher than a center value of the heat transfer orders, where the heat transfer orders are respective amount of heat transfer from the batteries being ranked in descending order; and a lower heat transfer group having the heat m transfer orders lower than the center value. A battery among the plurality of batteries showing the highest value of a lithium deposition tolerance which represents a degree of lithium being unlikely to deposit during charge/discharge operation, is disposed in a high tolerance arrangement portion in the plurality of arrangement portions, the high tolerance arrangement portion belonging to the upper heat transfer group.

Abstract: An assembled battery includes a plurality of secondary cells, a first arithmetic operator, a second arithmetic operator, and a discharger. The first arithmetic operator calculates a voltage change rate of each of the secondary cells during charging/discharging thereof. The second arithmetic operator determines a discharge condition for each of the secondary cells from the voltage change rate calculated in the first arithmetic operator and a state of charge of each of the secondary cells. The discharger performs discharging of each of the secondary cells on the basis of the discharge condition when the assembled battery is neither being charged nor being discharged. The second arithmetic operator determines the discharge condition of each of the secondary cells such that each of the secondary cells after the discharging has the same state of charge.

Abstract: An abnormality determination device for a secondary battery includes an internal-resistance calculation unit, a threshold memory unit, a capacity balance comparison unit, and an abnormality determination unit. The internal-resistance calculation unit detects an internal resistance in a negative-electrode reaction resistance dominant region in which a reaction resistance of a negative electrode is dominant in a charge and discharge reaction of the secondary battery. The threshold memory unit stores a capacity balance threshold used as a reference for determining abnormality in a balance between a capacity of a positive electrode and a capacity of the negative electrode in the secondary battery. The capacity balance comparison unit compares the internal resistance calculated by the internal-resistance calculation unit with the capacity balance threshold stored in the threshold memory unit. The abnormality determination unit determines abnormality in capacity balance in the secondary battery based on a comparison result from the capacity balance comparison unit.

Abstract: A battery monitoring system includes a data acquiring unit and a failure determining unit. The data acquiring unit acquires a plurality of types of monitoring data to monitor a state of a secondary battery. The failure determining unit determines whether the secondary battery has failed. The failure determining unit performs sparsity regularization using the monitoring data as variables and calculates a partial correlation coefficient matrix of the monitoring data. The failure determining unit calculates, as an abnormality level, an amount of change in a partial correlation coefficient, which is a component of the partial correlation coefficient matrix, between two partial correlation coefficient matrices calculated at different periods. The failure determining unit determines that the secondary battery has failed when the calculated abnormality level exceeds a predetermined threshold.
