Abstract:
This application relates to preparation of mono and bimetallic group V, VI, and VII containing carbide catalysts and the methods of using the carbide catalysts in hydroprocessing applications. A method of producing a carbide catalyst comprising: depositing a precursor metal, an acid or an amine, and an organic compound on a support thereby forming an impregnated support, wherein the organic compound has a carbon number of 10 or greater; and carbonizing the impregnated support thereby forming a carbide phase on the support.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for modifying hydrogenation catalysts having silica supports (or other non-alumina supports) with additional alumina, and using such catalysts to achieve unexpectedly superior hydrogenation of feedstocks. The modified hydrogenation catalysts can have a relatively low cracking activity while providing an increased activity for hydrogenation.

Abstract:
This invention relates to methods for deoxygenation utilizing bulk metal catalysts feedstocks derived in part or whole from biological sources and alternatively, further hydrotreatment processing of such deoxygenated feedstocks. Feedstocks containing bio-derived feed components, and preferably additionally mineral oil feed components, are deoxygenated in a first stage or zone using a bulk metal catalyst. In additional embodiments, the deoxygenated feedstock effluent from the deoxygenation stage is further subjected to a hydrodesulfurization stage or zone.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides processes for hydroprocessing hydrocarbon feedstocks comprising a silicon content of about 1 wppm or greater. In at least one embodiment, a process includes introducing, in a reactor or to the reactor, a hydrocarbon feedstock having a silicon content of at least about 1 wppm, based on the total weight of the hydrocarbon feedstock, to a treat gas to produce a hydrocarbon feedstock/treat gas mixture. The process includes introducing the hydrocarbon feedstock/treat gas mixture to a catalyst composition comprising at least one group 6 metal and at least one group 8-10 metal, wherein the molar ratio of group 6 metal to group 8-10 metal is from about 10:1 to about 1:10. The process includes obtaining a liquid product comprising a sulfur content of 5,000 wppm or less. Furthermore, processes of the present disclosure provide hydroprocessing of high Si content feeds using hydrocarbon feeds at high liquid hourly space velocities.
Abstract:
Feedstocks containing biocomponent materials are coprocessed with mineral feeds using a Group VI metal catalyst prior to hydrodesulfurization of the feedstocks. The Group VI metal catalyst is optionally a physically promoted Group VI metal catalyst.
Abstract:
The precursor of a hydroprocessing catalyst is made by impregnating a metal oxide component comprising at least one metal from Group 6 of the Periodic Table and at least one metal from Groups 8-10 of the Periodic Table with an amide formed from a first organic compound containing at least one amine group, and a second organic compound containing at least one carboxylic acid group. Following impregnation heat treatment follows to form in situ generated unsaturation additional to that in the two organic compounds. The catalyst precursor is sulfided to form an active, sulfide hydroprocessing catalyst.
