Abstract: An isomerization catalyst is provided, along with corresponding systems and methods, which provides improved isomerization for bio-derived feeds in reaction environments where by-products from deoxygenation are present. The catalyst provides unexpectedly increased activity and/or selectivity in situations where, for example, a deoxygenation effluent is cascaded to the isomerization catalyst. Additionally, the isomerization catalyst can assist with reducing or minimizing hydrogen consumption during isomerization. The increased activity, stability, and/or reduced hydrogen consumption is achieved in part based on using a dispersion agent when adding base metals to the catalyst. In addition to the base metals, the catalyst includes a zeolitic framework structure suitable for isomerization.

Abstract: Monolith structures coated with porous solids are provided that can serve as structural materials for amine sorbents, such as polyamine sorbents. By using monolith structures that are coated with suitable porous solids, the sorption capacity of an amine sorbent material that is deposited on the monolith coated with the porous solid can be substantially maintained as the loading density of the amine is increased. This can allow for higher productivity sorption systems by allowing higher concentrations of amine to be effectively used while still substantially maintaining the favorable sorption characteristics of the amine sorbent.

Abstract: Methods are provided for synthesizing metal-organic framework compositions using synthesis mixtures with elevated solids content and/or elevated kinematic viscosity. The methods can allow for formation of MOF-274 metal-organic framework compositions, such as EMM-67 (a mixed-metal MOF-274 metal-organic composition). More generally, the methods can allow for formation of MOF structures that include multi-ring disalicylate organic linkers using synthesis mixtures that contain a reduced or minimized amount of solvent, such as down to having substantially no solvent in the synthesis mixture.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for reducing hydrogen consumption during deoxygenation of bio-derived (or at least partially bio-derived) feedstocks. The reduced hydrogen consumption is achieved by performing the deoxygenation in the presence of a bulk multimetallic catalyst and/or in the presence of a base metal dewaxing catalyst having reduced metal stack heights. Additionally, due in part to being able to reduce or minimize hydrogen consumption, the heat release during deoxygenation can also be reduced, thus allowing a smaller catalyst volume to perform deoxygenation.
