摘要: The invention relates to powdery, highly reactive alkali and alkaline earth hydride compounds, and to mixtures with elements of the third main group of the periodic table of elements (PTE) and to the preparation thereof by reacting alkali or alkaline earth metals in the presence of finely dispersed metals or compounds of the third main group of the PTE, wherein the latter have one or more hydride ligands or said hydride ligands are converted in situ, under the prevailing reaction conditions, i.e., in the presence of hydrogen gas or another H source, into hydride species, and to the use thereof for the preparation of complex hydrides and organometallic compounds.

摘要: Described herein is the fusion of two families of unique carbon-containing molecules that readily disregard the tendency of carbon to form four chemical bonds, namely N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) and carborane anions. Deprotonation of an anionic imidazolium salt with lithium diisopropylamide at room temperature leads to a mixture of lithium complexes of C-2 and C-5 dianionic NHC constitutional isomers as well as a trianionic (C-2, C-5) adduct. Judicious choice of the base and reaction conditions allows for the selective formation of all three stable polyanionic carbenes. In solution, the so-called abnormal C-5 NHC lithium complex slowly isomerizes to the normal C-2 NHC, and the process can be proton catalyzed by the addition of the anionic imidazolium salt. These results indicate that the combination of two unusual forms of carbon atoms can lead to unexpected chemical behavior, and that this strategy paves the way for the development of a broad new generation of NHC ligands for catalysis.

摘要: The present invention provides a liquid organomagnesium precursor having formula {Mg(OR′)X}.a{MgX2}.b{Mg(OR′)2}.c{R′OH}, wherein R′ is selected from a hydrocarbon group, X is selected from a halide group, and a:b:c is in range of 0.1-99.8:0.1-99.8:0.1-99.8, and a process for preparing the same. The said process comprises contacting a magnesium source with an organohalide and alcohol in a solvent to form the liquid organomagnesium precursor. The present invention also provides a catalyst system using the organomagnesium precursor and its use thereof for polymerization of olefins. An illustrative example of the claimed process to make the organomagnesium precursor is: At 25° C., magnesium (powder or turnings) is added to organohalide, followed by alcohol in toluene. After heating to 90° C. and keeping there for 6 h the solution became viscous.

摘要: Provided are materials and processes for removing nitrogen dioxide gas from a sample by contacting the sample with a filtration media that includes a MOF, optionally an amine containing MOF. The resulting filtration media has the ability to sequester nitrogen dioxide with little conversion to nitric oxide, is stable, and highly functional so as to be useful in protective equipment or other filtration systems.

摘要: A new strategy to design container molecules is presented. Sulfonylcalix[4]arenes, which are synthetic macrocyclic containers, are used as building blocks that are combined with various metal ions and tricarboxylate ligands to construct metal-organic ‘super-containers’ (MOSCs). These MOSCs possess both endo and exo cavities and thus mimic the structure of viruses. The synthesis of MOSCs is highly modular, robust, and predictable.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a silica support for a metallocene catalyst used for olefin polymerization, a preparation method thereof, a metallocene catalyst using the same, and olefin polymer. Specifically, according to the present invention, a silica support used for preparing a metallocene supported catalyst is treated with a specific halogenized metal compound, thereby diversifying reaction sites to a cocatalyst when preparing a metallocene catalyst, and thus, the molecular weight distribution of produced olefin polymer may be much broadened and polymer having high molecular weight may be obtained compared to the existing support, even if the same metallocene catalyst is supported.
