Abstract:
In one general aspect, a method can include setting an alarm on a computing device. The setting can include setting a predetermined time to trigger the alarm, indicating a target application to launch when the alarm is triggered, and identifying content for access by the target application when the target application is launched. The method can include launching the target application based on the triggering of the alarm, identifying an external device for execution of the identified content, and providing the identified content for execution on the external device.
Abstract:
A method performed at an electronic device includes: executing an application; establishing a session between the executing application, a remote server associated with the application, and a media device that transmits output from the session to an output device, wherein the output from the session includes output from the executing application; and presenting to users of one or more second electronic devices on which the application is not executing and/or installed a session identifier associated with the session, wherein the session identifier facilitates joining of the session by the second electronic devices and identifies a controller configuration implementable on each of the one or more second electronic devices for enabling the users of the one or more second electronic devices to interact with the session.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and media for presenting media content that was advertised on a second screen device using a primary screen device are provided. In some implementations, a method for advertising media content to a user is provided, the method comprising: receiving an advertisement request from a computing device; receiving association information indicating that the computing device is associated with a media presentation device; receiving user account information associated with the user account; in response to the advertisement request, selecting an advertisement for media content based at least in part on the association information and the user account information; determining whether an indicator of subscription status of the user account to a service is to be presented in connection with the selected advertisement; causing the advertisement to be presented by computing device, wherein the advertisement is associated with instructions that, in response to interaction with the advertisement, cause the computing device to instruct the media presentation device to present the media content and the indicator of subscription status; receiving input indicating that the indicator of subscription status has been selected; causing an application associated with the service to be transmitted to the computing device; and updating the subscription status of the user account in connection with the service.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and media for presenting media content that was advertised on a second screen device using a primary screen device are provided. In some implementations, a method for advertising media content to a user is provided, the method comprising: receiving information indicating that a media presentation device has presented first media content; receiving an advertisement request from a computing device associated with the media presentation device that is capable of receiving media content from a remote source and causing it to be presented; selecting an advertisement for second media content based on the first media content having been presented by the media presentation device; and causing the second advertisement to be presented by the computing device with instructions that, in response to interaction with the advertisement, cause the computing device to instruct the media presentation device to present the second media content.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus include computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, including a method for providing content. An example content presentation opportunity is identified as being associated with a reservation system. The content presentation opportunity is characterized, including creating a signature defined by signals. Creating the signature includes defining a value for each signature element, wherein an element corresponds to one or more of signals. The value for a respective element is based on a value for a respective signal as defined by the content presentation opportunity. At least a portion of the signature is provided for presentation to a user. The user is queried for an indication of a relative importance of signature elements. The signature is evaluated in context of an exchange system including creating a proposed campaign including selection criteria based on the signature and the received indication. Information related to the campaign is provided.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media for interacting with content using a second screen device are provided. In some implementations, the method comprises: receiving, from a remote media streaming device, a request to present media content items; sending, over the Internet, interactive content to the media streaming device as a stream of video; causing the interactive content to be presented by the media streaming device; causing a notification to be sent to a computing device associated with the media streaming device indicating that the content being presented by the media streaming device is interactive content; receiving instructions from the computing device to control how an object depicted in the interactive content is presented; updating the interactive content based on the instructions; sending the updated interactive content to the media streaming device as a stream of video; and causing the updated interactive content to be presented by the media streaming device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media for providing information are provided. In some implementations, a method for providing information is provided, the method comprising: associating a first recording device of a group of recording devices located in an environment of a user with a trigger term; receiving, from a user device, a query that includes the trigger term; in response to receiving the query, determining that audio data is to be transmitted from at least one recording device from the group of recording devices in the environment of the user; identifying the first recording device based on the inclusion of the trigger term in the received query; receiving the audio data from the first recording device; identifying a characteristic of an animate object in the environment of the user based on the received audio data; and presenting information indicating the characteristic of the animate object on the user device.
