Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for assisting operation of a vehicle by automatically initiating activation of an automated functionality, such as autoland functionality of an aircraft, in the absence of user input within one or more monitoring periods. One method involves identifying a triggering event, identifying a monitoring period associated with the triggering event, monitoring one or more components for user input within the monitoring period associated with the triggering event, and automatically initiating activation of an automated functionality associated with the vehicle in the absence of user input within the monitoring period associated with the triggering event. In some implementations, the monitoring period adaptively and dynamically varies during operation.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detecting physiological episodes (PE). Raw physiological data including raw respiration data is received from at least one sensor of a biosensing garment of a pilot. Individual breaths are extracted from the raw physiological data. Each individual breath has an associated breath pattern. Aircraft environment data associated with an aircraft is received. The individual breaths are aligned with the aircraft environment data in accordance with a breath timeline associated with the individual breaths is and an aircraft environment timeline associated with the aircraft environment data. Each individual breath is classified as one of a plurality of different breath types based on the associated breath pattern. A determination is made regarding whether the breath types associated with the individual breaths are associated with a PE profile based at least in part on the aircraft environment data. A PE alert is issued based on the determination.

Abstract: An electronic checklist (ECL) system is disclosed. The ECL is configured to: generate an ECL display window, the ECL display window including an checklist information display panel and a checklist item display panel, the checklist information display panel having an annotations area and a virtual pilot area; populate the checklist item display panel with a plurality of checklist items from the ECL, wherein the checklist item display panel is scrollable to display checklist items from the ECL that occur earlier or later than a checklist item that is in focus; automatically populate the annotations area with information relating to a checklist item that is active; and cause the ECL display window to be displayed on the display device.

Abstract: A system and method for providing real-time feedback of remote collaborative communication between users includes extracting speech-related features and physiological features from at least one of the users and using these features to determine a stress state of at least one user. In response to the determined stress state audio signals may be processed to manipulate one or more vocal features of the speech supplied from another user, and/or at least one device may supply feedback to another user that provides suggestions as to how to manipulate or more of their vocal features.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for mitigating user input errors due to perturbances of mobile platforms. The systems may include, one or more sensors configured to sense measurable conditions internal or external to a mobile platform, and a controller in operable communication with the sensors and with a touchscreen display. The controller may be configured to, by one or more processors: receive sensor data from the sensors, process the sensor data to detect and characterize a perturbance, receive user input data indicative of user input performed by a user via the touchscreen display, process the user input data to determine whether the user input is likely to be invalid due to the perturbance, and initiate a corrective action in response to a determination that the user input is likely to be invalid due to the perturbance.

Abstract: A system and method for providing targeted crowd-based acoustic-prosodic and linguistic accommodation includes simultaneously detecting, with a multimedia device, individual facial images of a plurality of individuals and acoustic sounds from the plurality of individuals. Message data representative of an audible message supplied to the plurality of individuals is supplied to the processing system, the message data. In the processing system: a plurality of facial features and a plurality of acoustic-related features are extracted from the multimedia data; the facial features and the acoustic-related features are processed to determine an aggregate emotional state of the plurality of individuals; one or more acoustic-prosodic features of the audible message and/or a content of the audible message are selectively manipulated based on the determined aggregate emotional state of the plurality of individuals to generate an updated audible message; and the updated audible message is output.
