Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing or requesting data for simulating avionics systems. For example, a method for providing data for simulating avionics systems may include: receiving, from a client device, a first message requesting information usable by the client device to simulate a functionality of an avionics system, the first message being in a web services data format; converting the first message to an avionics protocol data format to obtain a first converted message; providing the first converted message to a server application; receiving, from the server application, a second message including the requested information, the second message being in the avionics protocol data format; converting the second message to the web services data format to obtain a second converted message; and providing, to the client device, the second converted message.

Abstract: A method for communicating using an architecture compatible with a multi-function control and display unit (MCDU) onboard an aircraft is provided. The method intercepts MCDU format communications transmitted by a plurality of avionics systems to the MCDU using a plurality of MCDU communication connections, by at least one processor; presents the intercepted MCDU format communications, via a graphical user interface (GUI) presented by a display device communicatively coupled to the at least one processor; receives user input data via the GUI, wherein the user input data comprises at least one of data entry, user selections, and user commands associated with the plurality of avionics systems; and transmits the user input data to the plurality of avionics systems using the plurality of MCDU communication connections, by a communication device communicatively coupled to the at least one processor.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for rendering a display page for a legacy display unit of an aircraft utilizing data from an advanced Flight Management System (FMS). The method comprises accessing aircraft flight data from a display page generated by the advanced FMS. A mapping table is created by comparing the advanced display page with a display page generated by the legacy display unit. The aircraft data is arranged for a legacy display page layout according to the mapping table. The legacy display page layout is then transmitted to the legacy display unit.

Abstract: A system for integrating flight crew decision aid applications in an aircraft cockpit includes a touch screen controller (TSC) that comprises a data mining engine configured to mine aircraft data from the already existing avionics interface and a flight plan and trajectory generating engine (FPTGE) configured to retrieve a trajectory request from a requesting flight crew decision aid application, compute one or more theoretical trajectories using the mined aircraft data, and transmit the one or more theoretical trajectories to the requesting flight crew decision aid application. The TSC also comprises a flight crew decision aid application configured to receive a flight crew request for simulated data from a touch screen user interface, generate and transmit one or more requested trajectory requests to the FPTGE, receive data from the one or more theoretical trajectories from the FPTGE, and display the requested simulated data on the touch screen user interface.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for flight management system (FMS) familiarization training. The system comprises a user application programming interface (API) that receives a request for a training scenario from a user. A flight management engine (FME) generates the training scenario that simulates the flight mission of an FMS onboard a designated aircraft. The training scenario is generated using the same algorithms as the FMS. A database configuration module retrieves performance and condition data that is provided to the FME for use in generating the training scenario. An external API retrieves external third-party data that is provided to the FME for use in generating the training scenario.
