    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for assisting operation of an aircraft by automatically using a specified value contained in a message. One method involves obtaining a first set of one or more attributes associated with a runway from a first data source, obtaining status information associated with the aircraft from a second data source, obtaining, over a network, a message relevant to the runway from an external data source, analyzing the message to automatically identify a second set of one or more attributes associated with a condition of the runway, determining a location of a reference point associated with the runway based at least in part on the status information in a manner that is influenced by the second set of one or more attributes from the message, and providing, on a display device, an indication influenced by the location of the reference point.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for displaying taxi information on an aircraft. The system comprises a display device, a database including taxiing route data that includes a plurality of taxiing routes associated with taxiways and runways at an airport, a communication system configured to receive the taxiing route data from the database, and a processor. The processor is configured to: receive an assigned taxiing route, receive the taxiing route data from the database, analyze the taxiing route data to determine whether modification to the assigned taxiing route is necessary, determine possible taxiing routes from the taxiing routes data based on conditions of the aircraft, predict preferential taxiing routes specific to the aircraft from the possible taxiing routes, generate a display for the display device including the preferential taxiing routes, and receive user input indicating a selected taxiing route from among the preferential taxiing routes.

    Abstract: A method for displaying objects in an aerial vehicle is disclosed. The method includes: determining if sensed objects or calculated virtual objects around the travel path of the aerial vehicle are within a field of view of a three-dimensional view in front of the aerial vehicle displayed on a display screen in the aerial vehicle; selecting, for each graphical object representing an object within the field of view of the three-dimensional view, a graphical object display size for the object, wherein the display size of an object is determined based on a non-linear projection per distance between the object and the view point that is scaled based on a continuous, non-linear scaling function, which causes the object to be displayed smaller at certain distances and larger at other distances than it would if linear scaling alone were applied; causing the display of the one or more graphical objects with the selected display size.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that receiving ground traffic data from a traffic computer, and enhanced vision system, EVS, imaging data from at least one EVS camera. A target area is determined in the EVS imaging data based on position data of the ground traffic data. Graphics processing is performed that is confined to the target area to enhance visibility of ground traffic in the EVS imaging data in the target area, thereby generating enhanced EVS imaging data. The graphics processing is selected from at least one of contrast enhancement, edge detection and template matching and highlighting of an outline of the ground traffic. A display is generated that is to be displayed on the display device based on the enhanced EVS imaging data and the EVS imaging data.

    Abstract: A method and system for generating a taxi assist path for an aircraft at an airport has been developed. First, a network of taxiways/runways for the airport is retrieved and used to generate multiple taxi assist paths for the aircraft from the present location of the aircraft to the destination of the aircraft. An optimum taxi assist path is selected for the aircraft from the multiple taxi assist paths. A mapping diagram of painted taxiway guidance lines for the airport is retrieved. The optimum taxi assist path is then modified to match corresponding painted taxiway guidance lines and displayed on an aircraft display device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for calibrating a synthetic image on an avionic display. The method includes receiving a synthetic image frame generated by an avionic display system and a sensor image frame from a forward-facing onboard sensor system. Object recognition is performed on the sensor image frame to generate a first search region for a first Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) marking, defined as a first search region-FAA marking pair. The sensor image frame and the first search region-FAA marking pair are processed using a deep learning method (DLM) to determine for the first FAA marking of the first search region-FAA marking pair, each of: a position deviation calculation, an orientation deviation calculation, and a synthetic image distortion factor. The synthetic image frame is then updated and rendered in accordance with the position deviation calculation, the orientation deviation calculation, and the synthetic image distortion factor, thereby calibrating the synthetic image frame.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a dynamic scale indicator on a flight display of an aircraft. The method comprises receiving an operational status parameter for the aircraft and generating the dynamic scale indicator located on the flight display of the aircraft. The dynamic scale indicator includes a positive value range that represents operational status parameter values greater than a selected setting value and a negative value range that represents operational status parameter values less than the selected setting value. The operational status parameter is translated into a value that is represented on the dynamic scale indicator. The value ranges shown on the dynamic scale indicator are adjusted by fading the negative value range when the operational status parameter value is positive, fading the positive value range when the operational status parameter value is negative, and fading the value range to the extent that the value range exceeds the operational status parameter value.
