    Abstract: Network devices and systems in 5G advance long term evolution (LTE) and new radio (NR) infrastructures utilize beam management operations to ensure communications for channel state information (CSI) reporting by a user equipment (UE). CSI report configuration reporting settings are processed based on a codebook subset restriction to indicate pre-coding matrix indicators (PMIs) that are restricted and non-restricted for PMI reporting associated with a rank indicator (RI). Based on the codebook subset restriction, an advanced CSI codebook or a new radio (NR) codebook is generated to be transmitted on non-restricted beams of the codebook subset restriction.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) configured for operation in a fifth-generation (5G) new radio (NR) (5G-NR) system may decode a downlink control information (DCI) format comprising one of DCI format 0_1 and DCI format 0_2. When the DCI format does not schedule a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and does not trigger a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission, and when the DCI format at least triggers a channel state information (CSI) request including at least one of a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) operation, a CSI interference measurement (CSI-IM), and a CSI report transmission, the UE may interpret one or more fields of the DCI format that would normally be used for PUSCH scheduling and/or SRS triggering as indicating additional information or parameters for the triggered CSI request. The UE may perform the triggered CSI request using at least the information in the one or more repurposed fields of the DCI.

    Abstract: An apparatus is configured to be employed within a base station. The apparatus comprises baseband circuitry which includes a radio frequency (RF) interface and one or more processors. The UE can be configured to decode CSI reporting parameters for one or more bandwidth parts (BWPs). The UE can be configured to calculate CSI for the one or more BWPs based on measurements from the one or more BWPs and the CSI reporting parameters for the one or more BWPs.     Abstract: Various embodiments herein provide techniques for minimum mean-square error interference rejection combining (MMSE-IRC) processing of a received signal, distributed between a baseband unit (BBU) and a remote radio unit (RRU). The RRU may perform a first phase of processing based on an extended channel that includes a channel of one or more user equipments (UEs) served by the RRU and interference samples that correspond to other cells or additive noise. The first phase may include scaling the interference samples by a scaling coefficient to obtain a modified extended channel, and performing maximum ratio combining (MRC) on the modified extended channel to obtain a processed signal. The RRU may send the processed signal to the BBU for the second phase of processing. The second phase of processing may include regularized zero forcing to remove interference. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
