Abstract:
The invention relates to alkoxysilacycloalkanes, to the process of their preparation and to their use in the polymerization of olefins. The introduction of these alkoxysilacycloalkanes into the olefin polymerization environment makes it possible to raise the heptane-insolubles content of the polymer finally formed.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a solid catalytic component comprising a metallocene, at least one first ligand of which comprises a cyclopentadienyl group chemically bonded via a methyl group to a support composed of a porous inorganic compound. It also discloses a process for the preparation of such a solid catalytic component.Application to the polymerization and copolymerization of olefins.

Abstract:
A copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin contains from 3 to 12 carbon atoms, wherein 0.1 to 1.5 mol % of the units originate from the alpha-olefin. The copolymer has a relative density ranging from 0.960 to 0.940, a transition metal content lower than 6 ppm, an Mw/Mn ratio higher than 7, an Mz/Mw ratio higher than 3.3 and an Mz higher than 300,000. The copolymer is prepared from the polymerization or co-polymerization of at least one olefin in the presence of a solid catalytic component or a prepolymerized catalyst.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The solid catalytic component according to the invention is obtained by a) treatment of a catalytic component support with ZrCl.sub.4 or HfCl.sub.4 in the gas phase, followed by a b) treatment with a solution or suspension of a compound capable of grafting a group containing the cycloalkadienyl skeleton to the Zr or Hf contained in the support. Polymerization of olefins in the presence of such a catalytic component results in polymers with low polydispersities, which polymers are obtained with high productivities.

Abstract:
Activator solid support for metallocenes as catalysts in the polymerization of olefins, characterized in that it consists of a group of support particles for a solid catalytic component, which are formed from at least one porous mineral oxide, the said particles having been modified in order to carry, on the surface, aluminum and/or magnesium Lewis-acid sites of formula: groups coming from a functionalization agent having reacted with —OH radicals carried by the base particles of the support, the functionalization reaction having been followed by a fluorination reaction. The catalytic system according to the invention comprises (a) a metallocene catalyst, which has, if required, been subjected to a prealkylation treatment; (b) a cocatalyst; and (c) an activator solid support for metallocene, as defined above, it being possible for the cocatalyst (b) to be absent if the metallocene catalyst (a) has been prealkylated.
