Abstract:
The rim spider of a two-piece wheel for a motor vehicle is provided with hollow spokes in which a metal foam core is arranged and remains. The rim spider is connected with a rim by way of weld ring surfaces which are friction welded. The metal foam core is provided in a special manner with a partial core which is supported on a top core of a casting die tool so as to provide positioned bearing in the casting die tool. By way of slides, which are arranged in a distributed manner on a circumference of the rim spider, an influence on heating and cooling behavior, during and after casting, is exercised.
Abstract:
A vehicle wheel includes a wheel spider and a wheel rim which can be connected together by a weld. For this purpose, mutually corresponding connection surfaces are provided on the wheel spider and on the wheel rim. The connection surfaces have either different inclinations or identical inclinations so that the two wheel parts can be centered with respect to one another for welding.
Abstract:
A wheel consists of a cast wheel spider which comprises several hollow spokes and which is connected with a rim ring by way of a weld, particularly a friction weld. In the area of the outer circumference, the hollow spokes have internal core openings for a sand core, and the openings are directed toward the rim ring. The wheel spider has bolt bores which are arranged concentrically with resect to a centric wheel opening and which are provided with bore sleeves which are cast approximately in the center inside the hollow spoke and have radially extending reinforcing ribs 11. In the area of the core openings, the wheel spider has at least one reinforcing element between opposite walls of each hollow spoke. The reinforcing element preferably consists of two cylindrically cast pins respectively which extend in parallel to the wheel axis and are arranged at a distance from one another and are situated on both sides of a transverse wheel plane defined by the reinforcing rib.
Abstract:
A wheel for a vehicle, particularly a spare wheel for a motor vehicle, has an outer and an inner rim disk which are connected with one another, these rims disks together forming a rim well. The ring disks have interior and exterior ring webs which are spaced with respect to one another and extend approximately in the wheel axis direction and have corresponding facing connection surfaces. Together with the walls of the two rim disks, the ring webs have an annulus which extends around the wheel hub and from it close toward the rim well of the wheel in a limited manner.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle has a rim spider provided with air openings and is connected with a rim well. The wheel comprises at least two shell parts which are constructed as a rim well and a rim spider and assembled and which each have an interior wall and an exterior wall. In the area of the air openings, these are connected with one another and each form hollow spokes between one another which, on respective end sides, lead into concentric annuli of the wheel.
Abstract:
A rim for a motor vehicle has several radial hollow spokes in a wheel disk which is manufactured in a die tool and is connected with a rim well. The cast wheel disk is connected with a deformed rim well by friction welding in the area of a rim flange. On an interior side, the wheel disk has at least one flat welding surface which extends around as an annulus and which is arranged so that it corresponds with another opposite flat welding surface of the rim well. In at least one of the hollow spokes, one reinforcing rib is arranged which extends radially from the wheel center axis toward the outside and connects two opposite walls of the spoke with one another.
Abstract:
A multi-part vehicle wheel includes a rim spider and a rim which are mutually connected by screwing devices. For connection by way of the screwing devices, the rim spider has ring surfaces which are placed flush on the rim. So that precise positioning of the metal foam core can take place, this metal foam core has core marks or needle cushions. For sealing off the hollow space of the spoke of the rim spider, which is filled with metal foam, a sealing strip or a sealing ring is arranged between the rim and the rim spider and is held in a clamped-in manner when the wheel parts are connected.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle includes cavities in a spoked rim structure. These cavities are provided with a removable sand core or with a remaining core, for example, made of metal foam. A rim, or a rim and a rim flange, may be connected with the spoked rim structure, so that a two-part or a three-part wheel can be produced in a simple manner.

Abstract:
A motor vehicle wheel having hollow spokes and made of a light metal is produced in a casting process. In the hollow space, the wheel spokes have a dead core consisting of a metallic material in the form of a metal foam or of a closed shell-shaped element, which dead core remains in the hollow space after casting.
