摘要: Methods and apparatus for searching a list of pilot signals. A method is provided for searching a list of pilot signals in a communication network. The method includes defining a prio list that indicates an order in which the list of pilot signals will be searched, obtaining a search duration, and determining an indicator that identifies a portion of the prio list that can be searched within the search duration. The method also includes performing a search of the portion of the prio list, and updating the list of pilot signals based on the results of the search.

摘要: Techniques for scanning other frequency channels for candidate base stations are described. In one scheme, the scanning of other frequency channels is performed based on the received signal quality (e.g., pilot Ec/Io) for an active base station that a wireless device is monitoring for user-specific and overhead messages. The scanning is bypassed if the active pilot Ec/Io exceeds a high threshold and performed if the active pilot Ec/Io is between the high threshold and a low threshold. In another scheme, the scanning of other frequency channels is performed at a rate that is a function of the active pilot Ec/Io. In yet another scheme, the scanning of other frequency channels is performed based on the active pilot Ec/Io and further using an adaptive timer. The timer is set to an initial value and thereafter adjusted by variable amounts determined by active pilot Ec/Io measurements.

摘要: A method and system for reliably returning to a traffic channel in a wireless communications system having at least one communication channel, after performing E911 GPS or other types of signal measurements is provided. A communications link is established using a device in the communications system configured to establish communication over the communication channel, which also includes a processor and a tuner. Communication is based upon receiving a first radio frequency (RF) signal including data frames. The method includes tuning to receive a second RF signal, which action interrupts reception of the first RF signal. Communication over the communication channel is maintained during the interruption. The method also includes processing data frames during the tuning, updating a signal search space associated with the first RF signal during processing, and searching for the first RF signal within the updated search space, so that the first RF signal is then re-acquired.

摘要: A manually manipulable actuator mechanism includes a body and a manually manipulable element. The body has at least one wall element having a length extending along a first axis and a height extending along a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. The manually manipulable element has a button portion adapted for human digital manipulation and at least one wing portion extending outwardly from the button portion. The manually manipulable element is movable along the first axis between a first position in which an operative element is in a non-actuated condition and a second position in which the operative element is in an actuated condition. The wall element, which has a first height at the first position and a different second height at the second position, cooperates with the wing portion to constrain movement of the manually manipulable element at least along a third axis orthogonal to the first and second axes while the manually manipulable element is moved between the first and second positions.

摘要: A data interface for transferring digital data between a host and a client over a communication path using packet structures linked together to form a communication protocol for communicating a pre-selected set of digital control and presentation data. The signal protocol is used by link controllers configured to generate, transmit, and receive packets forming the communications protocol, and to form digital data into one or more types of data packets, with at least one residing in the host device and being coupled to the client through the communications path. The interface provides a cost-effective, low power, bi-directional, high-speed data transfer mechanism over a short-range “serial” type data link, which lends itself to implementation with miniature connectors and thin flexible cables which are especially useful in connecting display elements such as wearable micro-displays to portable computers and wireless communication devices.

摘要: A system and method for determining timing offset errors in a low earth orbit satellite system based upon Doppler and Doppler rate of change is provided. A user terminal determines first and second timing offsets respectively associated with first and second satellite beams from respective first and second satellites. Next, the user terminal determines the Doppler and Doppler rate of change associated with the first and second satellite beams. A timing offset is estimated from the measured Doppler and Doppler rate of change and is then compared with the user terminal's own determined timing offset. If the comparison does not produce a value within a predetermined threshold, a beam identification error is declared.

摘要: A device which in an optical interface adapts XFP to a 300 pin MSA transponder socket, permitting replacement of 300 pin MSA transponders with an XFP module on an existing host circuit pack. The device performs dispersion compensation in a removable module, addressing issues of jitter, path length equalization, cross talk and electromagnetic compatibility. As deployed, the device presents at the optical interface the attributes of XFP, hence connected optical devices are “fooled” into reading a connection to XFP instead of the 300 pin MSA.
