摘要: A device may encode a first picture of the video data to generate first encoded video data; transmit the first encoded video data to a receiving device; receive, from the receiving device, encoding selection data for a second picture of the video data, wherein: the encoding selection data for the second picture indicate encoding selections used to encode an estimate of the second picture, and the second picture follows the first picture in decoding order; encode the second picture based on the encoding selection data for the second picture to generate second encoded video data; and transmit the second encoded video data to the receiving device.

摘要: There is provided mechanisms for identifying decreasing object detectability for a video stream. A method is performed by a controller. The method includes receiving the video stream over a communication channel. The method includes receiving first visual object detection (VOD) data of the video stream. The first VOD data has been obtained from the video stream before is sent over the communication channel towards the controller. The method includes obtaining second VOD data of the video stream. The second VOD data is obtained from the video stream after is received by the controller. The method includes determining, by comparing the first VOD data to the second VOD data, whether any object present in the first VOD data has a decreased object detectability in the second VOD data, thereby identifying the decreasing object detectability for the video stream. The method includes issuing a notification when the decreasing object detectability has been identified.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for using a Multiple Depth Plane (MDP) prediction in predictive coding. The system detects a camera viewpoint change between a current frame and a previous frame, decomposes a reconstructed depth map of the previous frame to a plurality of depth planes, adjusts the plurality of depth planes from a previous camera viewpoint to correspond with a current camera viewpoint, generates an MDP prediction by summing pixel values of the adjusted plurality of depth planes along a plurality of optical axes from the current camera viewpoint, determines an MDP prediction error between the MDP prediction and a depth map of the current frame, quantizes and codes the MDP prediction error, and transmits, to a receiver over a communication network, the camera viewpoint change and the coded quantized MDP prediction error for reconstruction of a depth map of the current frame.

摘要: The signalization of the inter-layer dependencies between layers of a multi-layered data stream is described. A good compromise between a too intensive restriction of the potential diversity of inter-layer dependencies on the one hand and a too complex signaling of the inter-layer dependencies on the other hand has been found by describing the inter-layer dependencies by way of a first inter-dependency syntax structure indicating inter-dependencies between pairs of different values representable by a base layer-ID and a second inter-dependency syntax structure indicating inter-dependencies between pairs of different values representable by an extension layer-ID, the base layer ID and extension layer ID indexing the layers the portions of the multi-layer data stream are associated with. In accordance with this concept, emphasis may be shifted between increased diversity of the signalizable inter-layer dependencies on the one hand and reduced side-information overhead for signaling the inter-layer dependencies on the other hand.

摘要: A data transmission system is utilized in a Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI). A master device includes a control module for generating a control signal according to a feedback signal. A packet encoding module is coupled to the control module for encoding an original packet to be a transmission packet according to the original packet and the control signal to process a transmission operation. A slave device includes a packet decoding module for decoding, the transmission packet to be the original packet or a related display device signal corresponding to the original packet to a display device. A feedback module is coupled to the packet decoding module for generating the feedback signal to the control module of the master device according to a decoding condition of the control module, so as to switch a transmission mode of the transmission operation.

摘要: An interleaved multi-layered video data stream with interleaved decoding units of different layers is provided with further timing control information in addition to the timing control information reflecting the interleaved decoding unit arrangement. The additional timing control information pertains to either a fallback position according to which all decoding units of an access unit are treated at the decoded buffer access unit-wise, or a fallback position according to which an intermediate procedure is used: the interleaving of the DUs of different layers is reversed according to the additionally sent timing control information, thereby enabling a DU-wise treatment at the decoder's buffer, however, with no interleaving of decoding units relating to different layers. Both fallback positions may be present concurrently. Various advantageous embodiments and alternatives are the subject of the various claims attached herewith.

摘要: Encoding and/or decoding a block of a video frame may be based on a previously decoded reference block in the same frame or in a different frame. The reference block may be indicated by a block vector (BV). The BV may be encoded as a difference between a block vector predictor (BVP) and the BV. A list of BVP candidates may be generated and/or augmented based on a decoded region of a video frame and/or dimensions of the block. For example, zero-valued candidate BVPs, in the list, may be replaced with other candidate BVPs generated based on a decoded region of a video frame and/or dimensions of the block.

摘要: A reference-order AL-FEC system for recovering network video data packet loss during real-time video communication includes a packetizer, a reference-order AL-FEC encoder, a reference-order AL-FEC decoder and a depacketizer. The packetizer constructs source symbols from source packets of a current frame. The encoder generates a repair symbol from the source symbols of the current frame and other reference frames based on the reference-order, not time-order, between the frames within an encoding window. The encoder also generates a repair packet based on the repair symbol. The decoder recovers a lost source symbol based on the source symbols of the frames of the encoding window and the repair symbol by decoding the repair packet. The decoding is achieved by solving a linear system of the repair symbol.
