Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems and methods for pre-programming a thermostat such that operational parameters of the thermostat may be selected by an installer during installation based at least in part on a location of the thermostat. For example, a thermostat communicatively coupled to conditioned air equipment may include location determination logic configured to determine a location of the thermostat with respect to a building for which the conditioned air equipment operates. The thermostat also includes conditioned air equipment control logic comprising a plurality of sets of static location-based temperature control algorithms. Each set of the static location-based temperature control algorithms corresponds to a location of the thermostat with respect to the building. The conditioned air equipment control logic is configured to control operation of the conditioned air equipment using a set of the static location-based temperature control algorithms that corresponds to the location determined by the location determination logic.

Abstract: A residential HVAC system includes, a compressor, and an outdoor unit controller in communication with the compressor. The outdoor unit controller is configured to receive an indoor ambient temperature and a temperature set point. The outdoor unit controller is further configured to determine an outdoor ambient temperature, and to determine an operating value for the compressor based on a percentage of a delta between a minimum operating value of the compressor and a maximum operating value of the compressor, plus the minimum operating value. The minimum operating value and the maximum operating value are based on the determined outdoor ambient temperature. The percentage of the delta is based on a predefined temperature differential multiplier and one or more time dependent multipliers. The outdoor unit controller is further configured to modify the current operating value of the compressor with the determined operating value.

Abstract: A climate control unit (e.g., for a residential building) may include a heat exchanger, a blower that circulates air from a return duct, across the heat exchanger, to a supply duct, and a filter that cleans the air before entering the heat exchanger. The effectiveness and/or efficiency of the filter may decrease as the filter collects particles. The climate control unit may include a controller configured to set a baseline measurement according to measurements of a blower property after a reset event. The controller may be configured to measure a deviation of the blower property from the baseline measurement of the blower property. The controller may be configured to generate a status notification in response to the deviation satisfying a threshold. The status notification may indicate that the filter should be changed.

The processing circuit is configured to receive an indication to operate the first zone in a first zone mode of the zone modes and an indication to operate the second zone in a second zone mode of the zone modes. The processing circuit is configured to operate one or more pieces of building equipment based on the first zone mode and operate the one or more pieces of building equipment based on the second zone mode.

The controller is further configured to operate the zoning system to draw the conditioned air from the first zone and supply the conditioned air to the second zone through the second supply air damper.
