摘要： A method for selecting a cell by a user equipment (UE) to receive a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system which supports the MBMS service with different frequency allocations (FAs) in the same area. In the method, a radio network controller (RNC) transmits information on an MBMS cell to the UE, and the MBMS cell information includes an MBMS offset for guaranteeing priority for cell reselection to the MBMS cell. The UE performs cell reselection using the MBMS cell information and receives the MBMS service from the reselected cell.

摘要： Disclosed is a mobile telecommunication system in which packet data is transmitted over an uplink, and particularly a method and an apparatus for transmitting control information from a UE to a Node B. By multiplexing, several upper layer data units and MAC layer control information are included in a packet which the UE transmits during one transmission period in the uplink. A header of the packet accommodates multiplexing information, and thus the Node B uses the multiplexing information for demultiplexing upper layer data units from the packet. When the packet accommodates only the MAC layer control information, the UE does not insert the header into the packet, thereby reducing the packet size. The Node B then determines whether the packet includes only the control information or the upper layer data units together with the header.

摘要： A method and apparatus for enabling partial combining on a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service are provided where a radio network controller (RNC) specifically informs a user equipment (UE) whether an MBMS service signal of the current cell is combinable with the same MBMS service signals received from different cells for each individual service or timing, through an MCCH or an MSCH, which is a type of a logical channel for an MBMS service, in a Uu interface. The UE combines the MBMS service signals transmitted from the different cells, thereby obtaining a gain in terms of utilization of transmission power and radio resources.

To support the mobility of UEs receiving an MBMS service, an RNC transmits, to each of a plurality of cells under its control, an MBMS service availability message including service availability information and resource availability information regarding at least one MBMS service available in the cell. From the MBMS service availability message, a UE determines if a desired MBMS service can be received in a current cell currently or in the future. The UE requests the desired MBMS service or selects another cell capable of providing the MBMS service.

摘要： A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving MBMS control information in an MBMS mobile communication system are provided. An RNC transmits MBMS control information for an MBMS service on an MCCH mapped to one of a plurality of CCPCHs available in a cell of the mobile communication system, and transmits a paging message on a logical channel mapped to each of the CCPCHs. Here, the paging message requests reception of the MBMS control information. A UE monitors one of the plurality of the CCPCHs, receives the paging message on the monitored CCPCH, switches to the CCPCH having the MCCH, and receives the MBMS control information on the switched to CCPCH. Therefore, resource consumption is minimized in transmitting MBMS control information in a cell and the reception reliability of the MBMS control information in the UE is increased.

The Node B selects a transport channel for MBMS control information among a plurality of transport channels mapped to a secondary common control physical channel; transmits a system information block indicating the selected transport channel to a cell area where UEs are located, using a primary common control physical channel; and transmits the MBMS control information to the cell area using the selected transport channel. The UE receives a system information block indicating a transport channel selected to transmit MBMS control information among a plurality of transport channels mapped to a secondary common control physical channel, over a primary common control physical channel; receives the MBMS control information over the selected transport channel among the plurality of the transport channels, using the system information block; and receives the MBMS service using the MBMS control information.

摘要： Improving communication efficiency in handover re-establishing an ARQ entity in a mobile communication system is disclosed. The method includes transmitting first Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Packet Data Units (PDUs) correctly received from the source cell, together with a special indication requiring reordering of the first PDCP PDUs, from a Radio Link Control (RLC) receiving buffer to a PDCP receiving entity when a handover command message from a source cell to a target cell is received; buffering the first PDCP PDUs in a PDCP PDU reordering buffer by the PDCP receiving entity in response to the special indication; and when a second PDCP PDU is received from the target cell through a new RLC receiving entity for the target cell, outputting third PDCP PDUs up to a PDCP PDU before a first missing PDCP PDU having a sequence number higher than that of the second PDCP PDU from the PDCP reordering buffer. In the method, a PDCP entity performs reordering, thereby improving efficiency of communication.

摘要： A method and apparatus for controlling measuring the frequency of a new cell within a forbidden registration area when a User Equipment (UE) enters into the new cell in a mobile communication system are provided. If the UE recognizes the new registration area as forbidden, the UE does not measure the frequency of the current cell for a predetermined reference time, and searches for a suitable cell for a normal service by measuring other frequencies. If no suitable cell in the other frequencies is found, the UE removes a measuring limitation and searches for an acceptable cell for a limited service by measuring frequencies including frequency of the current cell.
