Abstract: A node is provided that includes a home base station collocated with a local gateway (L-GW) providing access to a local Internet Protocol (IP) network. The node performs an establishment procedure with a security gateway (SeGW), and discriminates a packet. The node uses a first interface configured at the L-GW and a second interface which is configured between the home base station and a gateway for the home base station. The first and second interfaces are tunneled through a same IP security (IPsec) tunnel opened between the home base station and the SeGW. The home base station for the first interface uses a first IP address that is either same as or different from a second IP address used by the home base station for the second interface. The node uses either distinct ranges of Tunnel Endpoint Identifiers (TEIDs) or the first and second IP addresses to discriminate the packet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile communication system, and more particularly relates to a method for transmitting a small-sized control signal (also known as “small data”) using a control plane in a MTC (machine-type communication) service in a mobile communication system. In the present invention, MTC data is encapsulated in an existing control procedure or control message or the like, on a control signal, without performing packet data bearer setup, and the control signal having the encapsulated MTC data is sent between a network and a terminal, thereby optimizing network resource efficiency and reducing the wireless channel load.

Abstract: A method and a user equipment (UE) for routing a data packet in a wireless communication network are discussed. The method according to an embodiment includes establishing, by the UE, a packet data network (PDN) connection via a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) cellular network; obtaining, by the UE from an Access Network Discovery and Selection Function (ANDSF) server, a routing rule including information on an access point name (APN) and a priority of the APN, the APN identifying a packet data network (PDN) connection; and performing, by the UE, an offload function by selecting a gateway via the 3GPP cellar network based on the priority of the APN. The routing rule comprises identification information in the form of an IP 5-tuple allowing the UE to route the data packet.
