    Abstract: A communication system (150) provides a portable radio (100) that retrieves public safety records in response to a verbal query entered thereto. The communication system (150) includes a bot gateway (122) for accessing and retrieving the public safety records from a plurality of remote public safety databases in response to the verbal query entered into the portable radio. The bot gateway (122) determines a criticality level for the retrieved public safety records. The bot gateway (122) temporarily stores the retrieved public safety records and sends a criticality code to the portable radio. The portable radio generates user alerts indicating the criticality level of the retrieved public safety records based on the code. The portable radio plays out the bot-retrieved search results in response to a further user input to the portable radio.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a unique wake word for devices within an incident. One system includes an electronic computing device comprising a transceiver and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The electronic processor is configured to receive a notification indicative of an occurrence of an incident and one or more communication devices present at the incident, determine contextual information associated with the incident and the one or more communication devices, and identify one or more wake words based on the contextual information. The electronic processor is further configured to determine a phonetic distance for each pair of wake words included in the one or more wake words, and select a unique wake word from the one or more wake words for each communication device of the one or more communication devices based on the determined phonetic distance.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and tracking conversations of interest in crowded areas. The system includes a plurality of body worn portable public safety communication devices, each including a plurality of microphones and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to generate, using the plurality of microphones, a plurality of beams and scan in parallel, using the plurality of beams, a plurality of simultaneous audio conversations. The electronic processor is configured to identify and isolate a plurality of conversations of interest from among the audio conversations based on predetermined characteristics indicative of a potential threat. The electronic processor is configured to determine that at least two of the plurality of conversations of interest are potentially linked to a single potential threat, compile them for playback or transcription, and generate an alert indicating the availability of the linked conversations of interest.

    Abstract: A communication system (100) formed of a radio management system (104) interoperates with a radio management codeplug database (106) and a confusability analyzer (108) for the creation and storage of voice recognition target strings for uploading to one or more land mobile portable radios (110) prior to field-deployment. Once the radios are deployed to the field, unrecognized voice command entries are determined, stored locally at the portable radio, and uploaded to cloud based storage (122). Analysis of the cloud based data is performed through a voice control analytics engine (124) to detect patterns associated with the unrecognized voice commands. The unrecognized voice command pattern is processed though a resolution action engine (126) to generate one or more resolution actions for the pattern.

    Abstract: A system and method are provided for managing an incident call between a public safety responder and a target. Once an incident call is established, the system and method perform audio analytics on the call to determine a trusted side of the call and a target side of the call. The method and system determine, based on the audio analytics of the call, that the trusted side of the call should be modified to create a suitable call environment perception for the target side of the call. Modifications are then made at the trusted side of the call by injecting background audio to create the suitable call environment to be heard at the target side of the call.
