A system and method automatically scale the resolution of video output of a selected workstation blade so that an administrator can view the video output by the selected workstation blade in the same format as it is displayed at the user terminal associated with the selected workstation blade. The video is automatically scaled to the administrator's VGA resolution while maintaining the same end-user DVI resolution and displaying the video so that the administrator may see the video output regardless of display format at the end user. This system and method allows the administrator to see the entire display.

Embodiments include determining, by an efficiency monitor, a voltage level that a voltage regulator device provides to a processor; determining, by the efficiency monitor, whether the voltage level is within a predetermined minimum voltage range; and if the voltage level is within the predetermined minimum voltage range, displaying, by the efficiency monitor, a user notification indicating an efficiency of the processor.

A hot-pluggable video architecture system is disclosed. The system includes one or more computers, where each of the computers includes a system bus for carrying signals, such as video bus cycles, a hot-pluggable bus, and a hot-pluggable host controller coupled to the system bus and the hot-pluggable bus. According to the present invention, the hot-pluggable host controller includes a video resource controller for reading and converting the video bus cycles on the system bus into signals having a format of the hot-pluggable bus. An external hot-pluggable video subsystem is further provided that can be removably coupled to the hot-pluggable bus of any one of the computers for processing the signals into a format suitable for a display.
