摘要: An air intake filter assembly for filtering air flowing from a front end to a rear end includes a housing, a first filter stage, and a second filter stage. The filter stages are insertable in and removable from the housing. A latch is movable between a latched position in which the first filter stage is secured to the housing, and an unlatched position in which the first filter stage is not secured to the housing. A hinge is formable between the housing and the first filter stage, and the hinge allows the first filter stage to pivot with respect to the housing when the latch is in the unlatched position. When the first filter stage and the second filter stage are inserted in the housing and the latch is in the latched position, then the first filter stage is compressed against the second filter stage, which is compressed against the housing.

摘要: A heat exchanger for use in cooling a flow of compressed gas with a flow of cooling fluid includes a body portion having a first end, a second end, and a space between the first end and the second end. A tube bundle includes a first tube sheet, a second tube sheet, and a plurality of tubes extending between the first tube sheet and the second tube sheet. The tube bundle is insertable into the space from either the first end or the second end. A first head includes an inlet and an outlet, the first head connected to the first end and connectable to the second end and a second head is connected to the second end and connectable to the first end such that cooling fluid enters the inlet, passes through a portion of the plurality of tubes, contacts the second head and flows through a second portion of the plurality of tubes to the outlet.

摘要: A continuous process for converting benzene or a derivative thereof to phenol or a derivative thereof comprises continuously activating .alpha.-sites on a zeolite catalyst by contacting the catalyst with a free oxidant activator, thereby producing an activated zeolite hydroxylation catalyst, and separately and continuously contacting benzene or a derivative thereof with the activated zeolite catalyst, thereby producing phenol or a derivative thereof. The benzene or derivative thereof can be separately contacted with the activated zeolite catalyst by (a) contacting in a reaction vessel that is physically separate and distinct from the vessel in which the catalyst is contacted with the free oxidant activator, (b) contacting in a zone of a vessel that is separate from the zone in that same vessel in which the catalyst is contacted with the free oxidant activator, or (c) contacting with the catalyst in a reaction vessel in a first time pulse, with the benzene or derivative thereof being contacted with the activated zeolite catalyst in a second time pulse in the same reaction vessel which does not overlap substantially with the first time pulse.

摘要: A dowel post for securing dental and medical prostheses is provided having improved retention when cemented in a parallel-sided blind hole, and which reduces build-up of hydrostatic pressure ahead of the post as it is inserted. The dowel post comprises a head on which said prosthesis is formed or mounted and a shaft extending downwardly therefrom having a channel formed therealong providing a flow path for the cement. The channel is formed by one or more and preferably four or five helical concave flutes wound about the axis of the post at a pitch angle to the axis of 70.degree. or less and preferably at about 45.degree..

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to temperature control of a reactor using probability distribution of temperature measurements. In one embodiment, a method of controlling a temperature of a chemical reaction includes injecting a reactant stream into a reactor and through a catalyst bed of the reactor. The reactant stream includes a hydrocarbon and oxygen. Injection of the reactant stream into the catalyst bed causes an exothermic chemical reaction. The method further includes circulating a coolant through the reactor, thereby removing heat from the catalyst bed. The method further includes measuring temperature at a plurality of locations in the catalyst bed. The method further includes calculating a fraction of the catalyst bed greater than a predetermined maximum temperature limit using a probability distribution generated using the temperature measurements.
