Abstract:
The transducer comprises for example a block (1) of sensitive elements such as piled piezoelectric disks held up by a stud bolt between two ferrules and a shell (8) all in one piece, that is arranged around the piling with a concave central part (8A) extended on either side by a solid cylindrical part (8 B, 8 C). Two sleeves are arranged at the two opposite ends of the transducer and elastic elements (14) for decoupling them in relation to the vibrating block (1) are interposed. A flexible housing (18) can be placed around the shell (8) so as to insulate from the outside environment the inner volume of the transducer that can be filled with a fluid such as oil. Connecting means allow the vibrating block to be connected to an exciting voltage source. The transducer can be used for the emission of vibrations at sea or in wells and notably petroleum or gas wells for example.
Abstract:
In order to display alternately various parameters in the same aperture (46) of a dial or possibly in distinct apertures, the watch is provided with a rotating display disc (51) which includes a series (60) of numbers, representing the dates (1-31) on one part of its circumference and, on the rest of the circumference, at least one image of a celestial body, for example the moon (62) and/or the sun, and optionally other symbols (64). Over time, this image is set in different positions in the aperture, to represent the phases of the moon or the rising and setting of the sun. In an electronic watch, the display disc is preferably driven by an electric motor (54) via a large reduction gear (56).
Abstract:
A retractable anchoring device for a sonde to be lowered into a well for logging purpose, is adapted to rigidly position the sonde at a preselected depth. The device comprises pivotable anchoring arms adapted to apply against the wall of the well a substantially constant force produced by associated jacks actuated by driving means so as to apply to the respective arms forces which are limited by specific valves therefor in the hydraulic circuit feeding of the jacks.
Abstract:
A plastic injection molding device comprises a fixed plate 5 and a movable plate 7 bearing the two halves of a mold 3, a fixed plate 10 forming a bed, and hydraulic jacks 15, 17, 20 for moving and locking the plate 7. The plates are fixed or slidably mounted within a plurality of parallel hollow rectangular frames 11 which evenly distribute the forces transmitted by the fixed plates.
Abstract:
An optical recording device comprising a rigid arm carrying an optical system generating a light beam whose characteristics are varied in response and in relationship to a signal to be recorded. The arm is driven in an oscillatory movement by a motor of circular movement associated to a crank. The device further comprises a recording support unrolled along a direction orthogonal to that of the arm oscillatory movement, and means for synchronizing the control of the optical system with the movement of the arm.
Abstract:
Device for embedding in the ground a line of seismic receivers, comprising handling means for unwinding said line from storage reels placed on a vehicle, means for digging a trench into the ground, including a vibrating tool hauled behind said vehicle, a guiding member for guiding the line to the bottom of the trench, associated to the vibrating tool through elastic means so as to substantially dampen the vibrations imparted to the guiding member and consequently to the receivers of the line guided therewith.
Abstract:
Shock absorber comprising a casing delimiting an inner recess having two portions of different diameters and containing a liquid, a piston assembly consisting of two pistons of slightly different diameters mounted on the same rod and slidable into said recess, the larger of said pistons being traversed by a channel for liquid passage, a liquid reservoir either inside the rod or outside the casing, in communication with the inner recess through a further channel, sealing structure tightening the recess from the external medium and an element in the reservoir which is compressed or expanded in response to a change in the pressure of the liquid contained in the reservoir.
Abstract:
A method of installing a reception device in a cased well at an optimum depth for surveying a formation under production or a localized part thereof and a source of acoustic waves at the surface or in a well. A placing or setting of the device is achieved by associating a plurality of acoustic wave reception units with a tubing lowered into the well and by applying the respective units against the pipe casing of the well by arms and springs or by including the reception units in sondes which are mechanically uncoupled from the tubing during the stages of use, with the reception device being easily moved by displacing the tubing during, for example, interruptions in the production of effluents.
Abstract:
A device is provided for anchoring a probe in a well by remote control spreading, from the surface, of at least one anchorage arm kept in a closed position by a retractable bolt engaged in a rod connected to the anchorage arm by links. The external pressure is exerted permanently on the bolt and the bolt is fast with a head movable in a cavity. A pressure is applied to the head which is proportional to the external pressure which holds the bolt locked in the rod or a much lower pressure resulting in release of the bolt.
Abstract:
Process for producing a hydrocarbon cut of high octane number by etherification of an olefin-containing hydrocarbon cut.The olefinic cut, to which methanol is added, passes into an etherification reactor (1) wherefrom are separated (3) a bottom product (15) containing ethers, and a top product (14) containing residual methanol and unreacted light olefins. This top product passes into an etherification reactor (2) and then is washed with water (8).The top product is finally admixed with the bottom product. The so-obtained motor-fuel has a higher octane number than that of the initial hydrocarbon cut.
