Abstract: A seat belt energy management loop to reduce off-axis loading is disclosed. The seat belt energy management loop includes a substantially flat bracket welded to the chassis of a vehicle and including a plurality of openings for mounting a roll hoop and a seat belt retractor to the bracket. An integral loop is formed as an integral part of the bracket and extends from the bracket in substantially perpendicular relation to the bracket. The integral loop includes a seat belt guide segment extending from the bracket, a pair of curved end segments extending from the seat belt guide segment, and a straight segment extending between the pair of curved end segments, together forming a seat belt opening through which a retractable seat belt of the retractor extends.

A first metallic member has first and second sides, where the second side has a reduced thickness section. A second metallic member is coupled to a first side of the first metallic member. The second metallic member extends beyond the reduced thickness section to at least partially overlap the third member. The third member may be a fender for a vehicle.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an air/exhaust system for a vehicle, including a vented exhaust outlet with an inner tube and an outer tube having vents that draw air into a gap between the tubes to mix with exhaust from the inner tube and discharge cooled exhaust, an exhaust shield for reducing the noise emanating from the exhaust pipe, an exhaust collector with an inlet body, a neck body that causes the flow of the exhaust to converge and an expansion cone defining an expansion angle that improves distribution of exhaust flow across a catalytic converter. The catalytic converter has an inlet matrix brick formed from a foil that is thicker than a foil used to form an outlet matrix brick to improve the durability and performance. Finally, the system includes an intake duct with an interface having fingers that contact a frame member to inhibit wear of the intake duct.
