Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a method for improving call performance in a wireless network. The method includes sending an invite request to a server to initiate a Voice over New Radio (VoNR) service, where the UE is connected with a first network entity, and where the invite request comprises a media feature tag. The method includes initiating an Evolved Packet System fallback (EPS FB) service timer based on the media feature tag and a quality of service (QoS) timer and establishing a call over a second network entity using a dedicated bearer when the EPS FB command is received from the server. The call is established over the second network entity using the dedicated bearer by sending a service request to the server and/or sending an update request to the server when the EPS FB timer is expired and the EPS FB command is not received from the server.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for recovering from abnormal scenarios that cause release of a connection between network and UE including, detecting an interruption of a Radio Resource (RR) connection with a first PLMN associated with at least one first parameter, the interruption resulting in a loss of access to at least one type of service from the first PLMN, adding the at least one first parameter, the at least one type of service, and a defined time period to a list for the defined time period, and detecting a second PLMN associated with at least one second parameter within the defined time period, the second PLMN providing access to the at least one type of service, the at least one second parameter being different from the at least one first parameter.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for handling Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) and circuit switch fall back (CSFB) calls at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A non-access stratum (NAS) of the UE receives an IMS indication when an IMS call is initiated at the UE. The NAS determines a state of the UE. The NAS performs an action based on the state of the UE to trigger one of the IMS call and a CSFB call.
Abstract:
A method of performing wireless communication for a wireless communication device including a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and a second SIM includes performing a first wireless communication with a first terminal device through the first SIM, receiving a request for connection of a second wireless communication from a second terminal device through the second SIM, determining a target SIM among the first SIM and the second SIM in response to the request, and performing the first wireless communication and the second wireless communication through the target SIM.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for simultaneously accessing a plurality of services on Wi-Fi. The method comprises registering a first and second Media Access Control (MAC) identification (ID) with a first and second IP Multimedia System (IMS), by use of a User Equipment (UE). The UE comprises a first MAC ID associated with a first Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card and a second MAC ID associated with a second SIM card. Use of a first service through a first Access Point (AP) without interrupting a second service may be available with registration of a first and second MAC ID.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for controlling a voice call at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A method includes transmitting, to a network entity, a tracking area update (TAU) service request for a subsystem (IMS) initiation; receiving, from the network entity, a TAU service reject message; and in response to the TAU service reject message, stopping a circuit switch (CS) fall back call in at least one legacy radio technology (RAT).
Abstract:
A method and system for minimizing delay in circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) procedure is disclosed. The disclosed method provides two different approaches for optimizing the delay during the CSFB procedure. In the first approach, user equipment (UE) receives a Location Area Identifier (LAI along with the Radio Access Technology (RAT) information from the network (LTE network). The UE uses the received RAT information from the network for switching to the target Radio Access Network (RAN) without informing to the LTE network. In another approach, the UE obtains the RAT information by performing a background scan in idle mode, when the UE receives LAI without RAT information from the network.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system, User Equipment (UE) and method for preventing voice call (VoLTE) call drops in a communication network. A paging message is received as an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) invite message. The paging message includes a domain, or the UE establishes a connection with the network, in order to determine whether the IMS invite is for a voice call. A condition of non-sustenance of the voice call is detected based on a power level check for the UE and Extended Service Request (ESR) is triggered. The voice call is continued according to a success or a failure of the ESR.
Abstract:
A method and system to use existing Non-access stratum (NAS) signaling connection for pending uplink signaling/data after Tracking Area Update Procedure (TAU) complete is disclosed. The proposed method handles the EPS Session Management (ESM), Short Message Service (SMS) or voice call or data when a User Equipment (UE) is waiting for TAU accept. The method allows UE to inform the network with specific Information Element (IE) in TAU complete message, so that the network will take the next action. This will help to provide quick services to the user. Using the “CONN REQ TYPE” IE, in TAU complete, to handle all abnormal Cases for Circuit Switches (CS) services/data services in E-UTRAN (Evolved UTRAN) network.
Abstract:
According to a method of preventing call drop in voice communication network, a session is established for voice call initiated between a first terminal and a second terminal. The method includes receiving a first indication that the first terminal is entering a low-signal area. Further, the method includes disabling one or more media inactivity timers for retaining the session. Furthermore, the method includes storing one or more network parameters when one of the session is retained or when the session is released. Thereafter, the method includes receiving a second indication that the first terminal has exited the low-signal area. The voice call is resumed on the session based on the stored network parameters, when the session is retained upon enabling the respective one or more media inactivity timers. The voice call is re-initiated on a new session, based on the stored network parameters when the session is released.
