Abstract:
A multi-wavelength light generator includes a broadband light source and a wavelength division device. The multi-wavelength light generator is configured to generate a first output light having a first line width. The wavelength division device is configured to divide a wavelength of the first output light to provide a plurality of second output lights. Each of the second output lights has a second line width narrower than the first line width, and each of the second output lights is used as a light source of each channel of an optical sensor.
Abstract:
An optical coupling system is provided which includes a first layer structure and a second layer structure. The first layer structure includes a plurality of layers sequentially stacked on a substrate, and is configured to compresses a beam emitted from a light source along a direction substantially perpendicular to a top surface of the substrate. The second layer structure is formed on the substrate, and is configured to compresses the beam, having passed through the first layer structure, along a direction substantially parallel to the top surface of the substrate.
Abstract:
An image sensor includes a plurality of photo diodes disposed at a semiconductor substrate, and a splitter disposed on the photo diodes. The splitter splits an incident light depending on a wavelength so that split light of different colors enters different photo diodes, respectively. The splitter includes a first pattern structure having a cross-sectional structure in which a plurality of refractive layer patterns are deposited in a lateral direction.
Abstract:
A wavelength tunable optical transmitter includes a first waveguide receiving incident light through an input port and outputting the incident light to a first output port, a resonant modulator adjacent to the first waveguide and whose resonant wavelength is variable, and a second waveguide disposed optically in parallel to the first waveguide and outputting emitted light to a second output port. The resonant modulator includes a silicon resonator constituted by a crystallized silicon film in the form of a closed loop between the first and second waveguides, a first electrode within the silicon resonator and constituted by a silicon film of a first conductivity type, and a second electrode extending alongside part of the outer circumferential surface of the silicon resonator and constituted by a silicon film of a second conductivity type.
