Abstract: An electronic device including a flexible display and a method of transitioning a first execution screen of a first application from one screen area of the flexible display to a second screen area are described. The first area may have a first screen ratio, whereas the second area may have a second screen ratio. The transition may be based on a folded/unfolded state of the electronic device. The transition may be triggered based on switching to/from a folded state. Several other screen areas may be used for additional transitions and provide visual effects to provide a seamless user experience through such transitions.

The electronic device includes a display including a main display area and at least one expansion display area expandable from the main display area, a communication module, and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to execute an application of the electronic device in a first state in which the display is not expanded or in a second state in which the display is expanded, display first content on the display, establish a connection with an external device, receive a context generated from the external device, when the context is received, determine a position to display second content related to the context, from among the main display area or the at least one expansion display area, based on a type of the first content and whether the display is in the first state or the second state, and display the second content at the determined position.

The display device comprises: a storage configured to store output brightness information for each gradation according to brightness information of an image; and a processor configured to acquire target brightness corresponding to brightness information of an input image on the basis of the information stored in the storage, acquire a target light amount on the basis of a light amount of the input image, acquire a plurality of correction effects corresponding to a plurality of correction images by applying a plurality of gradation adjustment curves to the input image, acquire a gradation adjustment curve corresponding to the maximum correction effect among the plurality of correction effects, and adjust and output a gradation for each pixel of the input image on the basis of the acquired gradation adjustment curve.
