Abstract: Methods and systems for managing temperature of 5G UE by TX/RX path switching. If temperature of the UE increases beyond a preconfigured threshold due to heat contributed by a first TX/RX path of the UE, embodiments perform switching from the first TX/RX path to a second TX/RX path to control the temperature of the UE. The first TX/RX path and the second TX/RX path correspond to the same or different RF bands. If the first TX/RX path and the second TX/RX path correspond to different RF bands, the UE sends, to a wireless network, either: a measurement report, indicating that RSRP of a cell corresponding to the second TX/RX path is greater than RSRP of the serving cell corresponding to the first TX/RX path; or a UE Assistance Information indicating that the UE intends to camp on the cell corresponding to the second TX/RX path of the UE.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and device for optimizing multiple radio frequency (RF) module operation of a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. The method comprises: activating a first RF module from a plurality of RF modules available at the UE for communication with a serving beam in a serving cell while remaining RF modules are inactive, select at least one RF module from the remaining inactivate RF modules to measure at least one neighbor beam from a plurality of neighbor beams of each neighbor cell, and create a list of available neighbor beams in neighbor cells based on the measurements, determining whether a signal strength associated with the serving beam meets a signal criteria, and performing one of continuing communication with the serving beam using the first RF module in response to determining that the signal strength associated with the serving beam does not meet the signal criteria, and switching the communication from the serving beam to the at least one neighbor beam based on the measurement for continuing the communication in response to determining that the signal strength associated with the serving beam meets the signal criteria.

Abstract: A method of operating an electronic device includes determining initiation of a voice call on a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), while availing first data services through the first SIM. The initiation of a voice call leads to a fallback from a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). A Default Data Subscription/Service (DDS) is set to the first SIM. Further, the method includes registering with a first network through a second SIM, in response to determining the second SIM is registered with a second network with a second RAT. The method includes availing the first data services from the second SIM that is registered with the first network, while engaging in the voice call on the first SIM.
