Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for determining, by a wireless power transmitter, whether a wireless power receiver is removed from a wireless power network managed by the wireless power transmitter. The method includes transmitting a command signal to report power information of the wireless power receiver at stated periods; determining whether a report signal corresponding to the command signal is received from the wireless power receiver; and determining that the wireless power receiver is removed from the wireless power network, if the report signal is not received after transmitting the command signal a predetermined number of times at the stated periods.
Abstract:
A control method of a wireless power transmitter for transmitting charging power to a wireless power receiver is provided. The control method includes receiving setting information from the wireless power receiver, determining a load variation of the wireless power receiver for a set time period, and determining that the wireless power receiver is a charging target, if the load variation of the wireless power matches the received setting information.
Abstract:
A control method for performing wireless charging in a wireless power receiver is disclosed. The control method includes receiving charging power from a wireless power transmitter; detecting transition of the wireless power receiver from a Stand Alone (SA) mode to a Non Stand Alone (NSA) mode; upon detecting the mode transition, generating a message including address information used to re-connect with the wireless power transmitter; and transmitting the message to the wireless power transmitter.
Abstract:
A control method for transmitting charging power to a wireless power receiver in a wireless power transmitter is provided. The control method includes receiving a Power Transmission Unit (PTU) searching signal for searching for a wireless power transmitter, from the wireless power receiver; obtaining information about an identifier of a signal in a communication scheme used by the wireless power receiver; and exchanging signals with the wireless power receiver based on the information about the identifier of the signal in the communication scheme used by the wireless power receiver.
Abstract:
A wireless power transmitter and method are provided for transmitting charging power to a wireless power receiver. The method includes transmitting, to the wireless power receiver, a control signal including first time information and load change information; detecting a load change of the wireless power receiver during a period of time corresponding to the first time information; and determining that the wireless power receiver is authorized for charging, if the detected load change of the wireless power receiver corresponds to the load change information included in the control signal.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for controlling power transmission. A minimum voltage and a maximum voltage receivable at the at least one power receiver, a reference voltage used to divide a range between the minimum voltage and the maximum voltage, and a demanded voltage required by the at least one power receiver, are received from at least one power receiver. A report about a power reception condition is received from the at least one power receiver. The report includes a measured voltage at the at least one power receiver during power transmission from the power transmitter. It is determined whether the measured voltage is between the minimum voltage and the reference voltage. Power is adjusted and supplied when the measured voltage is not between the minimum voltage and the reference voltage.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for controlling power transmission in a power transmitter against overvoltage at a power receiver. The power transmitter receives a subscription request to subscribe to a wireless power network, from the power receiver. It is determined whether power transmission is available for the power receiver. The power receiver is informed that the power transmission is beginning, when the power transmission is available. The transmission power is increased and transmitted. It is determined whether a stop request to stop increasing voltage is received at the power transmitter from the power receiver. The increase of the transmission power is stopped when the stop request is received at the power transmitter. Charging of the power receiver is started by transmitting a start charging command from the power transmitter to the power receiver.
Abstract:
A method for controlling an electronic device including a charging circuit is provided. The method includes receiving power wirelessly from a power transmitting device; rectifying the received power; based on a voltage of the rectified power being greater than or equal to an allowable voltage of the charging circuit, controlling to convert the rectified power through a converting circuit of the electronic device and to output the converted power to the charging circuit for charging a battery of the electronic device, wherein the allowable voltage relates to a maximum voltage or a preferable voltage to be applied to the charging circuit; and based on the voltage of the rectified power being less than the allowable voltage of the charging circuit, controlling to stop converting the rectified power and to output the rectified power to the charging circuit by connecting the rectifying circuit to the charging circuit.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for controlling power in a wireless power transmission/reception system. The method includes receiving power information from a receiver within a charging area; determining whether power is available for the receiver based on the power information; if the power is available for the receiver, transmitting, to the receiver, a first response requesting the receiver to perform charging; and if the power is not available for the receiver, transmitting, to the receiver, a second response requesting the receiver to maintain a standby state
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for controlling wireless power in a wireless power network managed by a wireless power transmitter. The control method includes registering a wireless power receiver to a wireless power network corresponding to the wireless power transmitter; applying a charging power for charging the wireless power receiver to a resonator of the wireless power transmitter; detecting a change of magnitude of power applied to the resonator; detecting that a communication unit of the wireless power transmitter fails to receive a communication signal from the wireless power receiver a predetermined time; and in response to detecting the change of the magnitude of power applied to the resonator and that the communication unit fails to receive the communication signal from the wireless power receiver in the predetermined time, removing the wireless power receiver from the wireless power network.
