    Abstract: A battery module includes: a plurality of battery cells; and a plurality of cell carriers arranged adjacent to each other. Each of the cell carriers includes a plurality of meandering ribs that are spaced apart from each other, a first plurality of cell retainers, and a second plurality of cell retainers. Each of the first plurality and second plurality of cell retainers is configured to hold one of the battery cells in a form locking manner, and the battery cells are in the cell retainers. The first plurality of cell retainers of one of the cell carriers is arranged between the meandering ribs of the one of the cell carriers, and the second plurality of cell retainers of the one of the cell carriers is arranged between one of the meandering ribs of the one of the cell carriers and a meandering rib of an adjacently arranged cell carrier.

    Abstract: The present invention refers to a battery module comprising a plurality of battery cells, each battery cell including a first terminal and a second terminal spaced apart and electrically isolated from one another, a housing including an upper housing part and a lower housing part assembled together to completely surround the plurality of battery cells, and a plurality of bus bars integrated in the upper housing part, wherein each of the plurality of bus bars is connected to one of the first and second terminals of at least two battery cells. The present invention further refers to a method of manufacturing the battery module, which is fast and easy and has a high tolerance for fluctuations in the battery cells height.

    Abstract: A battery frame for providing structural support for a battery pack for retaining rows of stacked battery cells is provided. The battery frame includes a plurality of longitudinal beams and a plurality of crossbeams arranged between and connected to the longitudinal beams. The crossbeams are arranged in parallel to each other and include two outer crossbeams and an inner crossbeam. The inner crossbeam is arranged between the outer crossbeams. A retaining section for retaining one of the rows of stacked battery cells is provided between any neighboring pair of the crossbeams so that the rows of stacked battery cells and the inner crossbeam are alternately arranged between the two outer crossbeams. Each of the crossbeams is connected to the longitudinal beams by a plurality of fasteners extending in a longitudinal direction of the crossbeams through the longitudinal beams and into the crossbeams.

    Abstract: An assembly set for assembling a carrier framework for a stack of battery cell blocks is provided. The assembly set includes a first frame beam, a second frame beam, and a Z-shaped busbar. The Z-shaped busbar includes: a positive plate configured for connecting to positive terminals of battery cells of a first battery cell block; a negative plate configured for connecting to negative terminals of battery cells of a second battery cell block; and a connection plate connecting the positive plate and the negative plate. The Z-shaped busbar is fastened to the first frame beam and the second frame beam.

    Abstract: A battery system includes: battery cells; and a battery housing including: a chamber between a bottom cover and a top cover of the battery housing; and at least one sidewall member connecting the bottom cover and the top cover to each other, the at least one sidewall member extending along an outer boundary of the chamber, and including: a channel inside the sidewall member; and apertures connecting the chamber with the channel, the apertures being located at a top half of the channel such that at least a bottom half of the channel is for collecting solid matter. The battery system vents a venting gas of a thermal runaway from at least one of the battery cells by directing the venting gas along at least one venting path leading from the chamber, through at least one of the apertures and the channel, and to an environment of the battery system.
