    摘要: A device for driving a directly heated cathode of a cathode ray tube eliminating a delay due to inductance of a transformer. A transformer that produces the heater-heating signal voltage applied to the cathode includes a secondary coil divided into first and second coils. The voltage induced in the first coil is used for the heater-heating voltage and the signal induced in the second coil is synchronized with the voltage induced in the first coil and used as a bias voltage for turning on and off a switching element in synchronization with the heater-heating voltage. The switching element turns on only when the heater-heating signal voltage is applied to a control terminal of the switching element.

A method for manufacturing a directly heated cathode structure includes manufacturing a porous pellet having a multiplicity of cavities, welding a first metal member to a surface of the porous pellet with a brazing layer, impregnating the cavities of the pellet with an electron radiating material, and welding a second metal member to the first metal member with a filament disposed between the first and second metal members. The useful life of the cathode structure is prolonged since thermions are not emitted through the surface of the pellet covered by the metal member.

The method of browsing images includes determining the color temperature of an input image when a browsing mode is input; and browsing images when the color temperature falls within the color temperature range of the browsing mode.

    摘要: An image retrieval method and apparatus independent of an illumination change are provided. The image retrieval method involves: inputting a query image; detecting an illumination color from the query image and converting the illumination color into a standard illumination color; extracting color information of the query image by using color descriptors; and retrieving a similar image by comparing the extracted color information with color information of a database which converts a variety of images into images of standard illumination colors and extracts and stores the color information of the images in advance. According to the method, without changing the structures of color descriptors or a similarity comparison using color information, an image retrieval independent of illumination changes is enabled by adding only a preceding step of standard illumination conversion.

    摘要: A method of describing texture of a group of frames (GoF) or a group of pictures (GoP) using homogeneous texture descriptors, and a method and apparatus for retrieving a GoF/GoP using the texture description method are provided. The texture description method includes: generating homogeneous texture descriptors of all frames constituting the GoF or all pictures constituting the GoF; and expressing the GoF or GoP using a predetermined representative homogeneous texture descriptor corresponding to one frame or picture to reduce the amount of data. The GoF/GoP retrieval method includes: establishing a database of homogeneous texture descriptors of a plurality of GoFs's or GoPs's, each GoF or GoP being expressed by a predetermined representative homogeneous texture descriptor corresponding to one frame or picture to reduce the amount of data; generating a homogeneous texture descriptor corresponding to one frame or picture of a query GoF or GoP when the query GoF or GoP is input; searching homogeneous texture descriptors that are similar to the homogeneous texture descriptor of the query GoF or GoP in the database; and retrieving GoFs's or GoPs's corresponding to the searched similar homogeneous texture descriptors and arranging GoFs's or GoPs's in the order of degree of similarity. Therefore, the texture of images can be more accurately expressed, and an image can be more efficiently and rapidly retrieved.
